Get Up: The Life and Times of James Brown Paperback – Import, 28 June 2014

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, so many things in james life I did not know, he was a definite figure for our people , in so many ways, it was just kind of sad how he treated women though, I think because of his relationship with his mom. I told all my friend to see the movie and read this book.

Very interesting book. I remember some of the incidents in the book and the book filled in the gaps for me.

I had to read this before going to see the movie. Even though I lived through most of his life I now have a better understanding of James Brown. I love his music and I am thankful for his influence on music. Rest in peace, Godfather of Soul. Great read
