Yes, it will leak at the zipper if ice melt reaches that area. Consider using reusable ice packs instead. I used several to surround my food and drink and everything stayed chilled.

It's not hard-sided so it's easy to wipe clean. Mine is black so it never looks dirty.

Most of these types of coolers leak. I use frozen bottled water instead of ice. No leaks.
