Baby Love: Essential Diana Ross & The Supremes

Great value-priced set, featuring 59 tracks by The Supremes - and yes, these are by the Motown Supremes. The set itself is rather haphazardly compiled, with a wide array of tracks including both hits and even a few fairly deep album tracks. There are also some alternate mixes and versions here; not just the original 45 or LP cuts. Some may not notice that, but as a Supremes junkie, I do, and I love that different takes were used for a few songs. The underlying fact of this set is that it contains some spectacular music, a lot of it, and at a splendid price. The sound is actually very good for the most part; many tracks are mixed with a heavier bottom beat (bass and drums), which in my opinion, really brings the tracks alive. One or two tracks are inferior in sound quality to previous releases, yet for the price, that can be overlooked. Two discs of Diana and The Supremes and one disc of the post-Diana 70's group.

Great collection from beginning to the updated Supremes in the 70's without the main star, Diana...Although I didn't think they could pull it off without her, I was pleasantly surprised that they did....some good songs came out of the new group...the best of both worlds for me and a great price...

Wonderful 3 CD set. The first two CDs are of Miss Ross & The Supremes with classic hits and covers. The third CD features the 70s Supremes with all their great hits on it. This collection is a must have for the die hard Supremes fan.
