Bad Candy is actually pretty good.
Inexplicably, I have found some harsh reviews on Bad Candy, and I do not quite get why. Granted, Bad Candy is a Trick 'r Treat (2007) wannabe. It is a horror anthology of interconnected stories. However, most any Trick 'r Treat imitators are not going to equal a modern classic. And, I will say that Bad Candy is a cut above the recent A Night of Horror: Nightmare Radio (2019), which it closely resembles. In fact, this movie meritoriously resembles other recent anthologies that a horror fan may have enjoyed. As the headline reads, Bad Candy is actually pretty good. For its detractors, this creepshow is actually pretty bad because it lacks strong coherence, in their opinions. They mention that, by movie's end, stories are not connected sufficiently clearly. They claim that certain characters are underdeveloped and, therefore, have unclear motives. I did not particularly have a problem with the text's coherence or characterization. Admittedly, I did re-watch the film once to see how stories intertwined. However, many good films necessitate re-watches if the plot is intricate enough.Overall, I cannot say why certain people do not laud Bad Candy. Therefore, I have to guess that they found certain elements overly disturbing. For example, one anthology segment journeys into some awfully sick territory. But, it is no more disquieting than some of the shocks and cheap thrills in the V/H/S and ABCs of Death series. And, people liked those movies. Sometimes, a horror feature is supposed to be a horror feature, not a safe space.Along that line, another Bad Candy segment may disturb certain viewers, but I appreciated the chapter. It has to do with real-life monsters and horrors. Specifically, a sleazebag, who the intended victim knows, breaks into a woman's house and chases her around. This piece examines a real problem. Sometimes, the horror genre does that, and Bad Candy examines social issues throughout actually. That's okay. So do the Tales from the Hood and the Tales from the Crypt series. Sometimes, it is politically progressive to show the raw truth. Finally, one Bad Candy story allegorically discusses combat veterans and the effects of war. Perhaps, some viewers will not like what the story is subtly saying. However, a person can argue that any good art is art that people can discuss after encountering. Please give Bad Candy some business. It deserves it.

Bad Movie
$0 Budget. Story line was all over the place. I also donβt see any reason for modern politics to be brought into a movie as well. Wish I could get my time back.

GARBAGE
As a lover of horror, I'm so disappointed I spent actual money on this movie. I only got to the necrophilia before I gave up on it completely. To be fair, if I could rate it lower... I would. I have loved my share of low budget films. I couldn't get past the poor writing, awful acting, and lack of plot. I can't get my time or money back, but maybe I can save yours. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.

Ok idea... bad execution
I wouldnt watch this again on purpose. Definitely gave me 2007 Trick 'r Treat vibes, but did not match the execution of that film. CGI graphics were bad and sometimes unnecessary. One scene was gruesome and good on its own... but then cgi squirting blood made my eyes roll into the back of my head... nope it didnt need that. The sex workers were probably the best actresses and had the funniest lines... all other actors/scenes were borderline cringe.

Get in the Halloween Mood with this Decadent Treat.
Get in the Halloween Mood with this Decadent Treat. Bad Candy won't rot your teeth, but might corrupt your mind as it weaves through several interlaced stories of Horror and Fright. None of those cheesy jump scares or over-CGI'd scenes, this is classic storytelling with all the practical effects, blood and gore.

Decent indie horror anthology
These shorts were made to match, so technically it's not an anthology like ABC's of death for instance. It is pretty good with some surprises. It was better than I thought it would be. There were little continuity issues here and there but it can get away with them bc you are actually enjoying the story.

TRASH
Enjoyed seeing Corey Taylor but other than that this movie has nothing too offer. The stories are pretty bland and while the movie does take place during Halloween it has little to do with Halloween. Save your time and money!
