Intulo: The Lost World Paperback – January 4, 2016

This is an interesting setting taking place in the depths of a gold mine. There is suspense and technical invention that is close to reality giving it a sense of reality, yet with archeological intrigue through strange creatures. Typical money motivation and greed driving the characters balanced by unsuspecting scientist /engineers working to improve the dangers of manpowered deep digging in the mine. A touch of romance. I found it interesting reading the size and depths of modern mines and how practical issues must be managed to allow the miners to survive mining conditions. I liked it.

There may be spoilers...This book was a pleasant surprise. I was craving a good monster adventure - found this in my samples and thought, well why not? The book didn't disappoint.Besides the authors writing style which made the reading for me a continous flow and the fast pace, I especially liked- the monster scenes were up, close and personal- the author managed to describe the red shirt scenes so you felt you actually knew the characters- the book kept itself within it's own logic- the villains were more nuanced than I would have thought and therefore less boring and more fun and relatableWhat could have been better, but didn't distract from my overall enjoyment- cliche love story, but I have read worse so easily ignored (this also meant the main characters annoyed me a little by the end)- "we can't have too many survivors" syndrome so predictable and sudden deaths occurI will definitely check out the author's other books. It was overall well balanced.

This book should not be recommended for anyone who might be even a little claustrophobic. The author actually puts you right down into the hot dark depths of the mine and makes you sweat and struggle to get out. The characters are well developed and the insects are creepy. There is a touch of romance and an expensive machine that might be the basis for a sequel. What other horrors lie beneath the surface?

I greatly enjoyed this novel. The author had great imagination with the creatures and told the story well. This book was highly suspenseful and packed with action. I certainly recommend this book and hope to read more from this author soon.

Very different and I enjoyed it. I would recommend it to horror lovers.

Oh what a ride! I flew through the pages of this book. Once you start it is very difficult to stop. I love books about monsters of any kind. This was creepy because of the bugs.
