The author looks every inch a mobster from the Cosa Nostra
This is a reasonably good book on insider business tips. It does not deserve more than three star. Mike has a very high opinion of his street smarts. I’ve met smoother operators in my time. Basically the Mafia is a ferris wheel of scams, rip offs, heists and many legitimate businesses as well. But the main feature of modern America is that Italians do not dominate organised crime as in the past. Every immigrant ethnic group can now boast of their own stable of gangsters and if you ask me the Chinese traids will make mincemeat of the Mafia in the years to come. Then all those mobsters with triple names and fedora hats and De Nobli cigars will be scurrying like rats.

Every freelancer can benefit from it.
Everything Mr. Franzese will tell you, you may have already heard, most likely from some wise old man in your family or neighborhood or may have heard in the iconic film "The Godfather". However, he tells it why all those basics are important. Also he tells you all those with fascinating anecdotes from his mob life. For freelancers remembering the basics is the most crucial yet overlooked aspect of their professional life. Short, precise, engaging and most importantly practical book.

Surprisingly Good - Really Good
I bought the book because it looked interesting. What I found was solid advice for success in business and life. The Mob stories were good too.I rarely take the time to write a review but this book earned one.Michael will ask you to decide whose philosophy you want to live by, Machiavellis’ or Solomons’. Choose wisely.

I'll Make You an Offer You Can't Refuse
It is almost impossible to drop this book. This book is well written. Just straight to the point. No beating around the bush, no unnecessarily long chapters, headings, or subheadings. You really cannot miss the point. Every chapter and subheading connects. Each chapter ends with a summary of points so that you get the message. No overkills just emphasis on essential tips. Gives very insightful lessons and tips on managing business organizations as well as managing business and non-business relationships. A few tips include mobbing up your business. I understood it to mean having the right team. Have a clear written plan to be reviewed. Have a consigliere, that is someone you trust that is fair and impartial and acting in the best interest of your company and not one whose interest conflicts with the goals of the company. Beware of Machiavelli's trap, where fear is masked as loyalty. Consider Solomon's principles. I have read many books and invested a lot in education. I consider this to be a great read. This book really is an offer I could not refuse.
