Creative Haven Endless Summer Color by Number (Adult Coloring Books: Seasons)

Favorite book from Creative Haven so far. I like the color by number because I find the regular ones too challenging. (Though I occasionally make a different color choice). I recommend using markers—color pencils take too long and don’t produce a bold result. I have been using mostly Sharpies ultra-fine, with ohuhu and copic for lighter shades. I trace the lines before coloring with pigma micron black 05 and 01 greys which helps the colors stay inside the lines.

Absolutely love this color by number book!

At first I didn’t like that the outlines are not solid. More like a faded grey. I tried outlining with my pencils but was sharpening them too much and took way too long. I had a set of colored ultra fine point alcohol markers on hand and they work great but with all alcohol markers, they bleed through. I’ve also tried some glitter gel pens that work pretty good for the outlines as well.I happen to like the fact that the numbers are a bit small and faded so they don’t stand out so much once you color over them and makes for a nicer finished product.The designs are fun and whimsical. Not so basic that you get bored with it. Most of the designs have enough detail that caters to adults but not so complicated that it gets frustrating. There are some designs a bit less complex and some that are more so can choose according to your mood. Would be nice if these books were spiral bound so I could keep them flat in the book while coloring.A lot of times I have trouble choosing my colors so these CBN really help relieve that anxiety plus, the way they are designed helps me experiment with shading as well. I can always choose different shades if I don’t like the way they match up.Would give a 4.5 for the lack of spiral bound. I didn’t like the faded outlines but have learned to have fun with it.

I love the style of pictures and the quantity for the price, but the fact is that the numbers are so small that it makes it almost impossible to see sometimes. I even used a magnifying glass at times and still had a great deal of difficulty. If the numbers were bigger, I'd give 5 stars.

What’s there to say? It’s a colour by numbers book. It’s good.
