Urban Kangaroo All Natural Lotion Making Kit (Made in USA), Makes 5 Skin Glowing Lotions with Everything Included

I bought this kit for my 8-year-old daughter for Christmas, and she absolutely loved making her own lotion! It was simple enough that she could manage most of it independently, with only a little help from her big sister or me. I chose it for the natural ingredients, and the 2 included scents are delicious! My only suggestions are 1) the instructions call for making the entire batch of lotion in one go, which is great for simplicity, but if you want to try both scents you need to divide the lotion into 2 containers before bottling. I would have loved if either the recipe of the ingredients themselves were divided to allow for making it in 2 batches, one with each of the yummy scents. 2) I found myself looking for a funnel to help pour the lotion into the bottles/jars. Not a big deal, as it was pretty easy to wipe off the bottles, but it would have been nice to avoid that step with the use of a small funnel. 3) My kit was one label short, and 2 were already stuck to the containers (not centered either). Again, not a huge deal, but I would've liked to have one for each container, and it would be even better if I could customize them with the scent used in each container. Overall, the kit was awesome! I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to give lotion-making a try. And I look forward to trying out some of the other Urban Kangaroo DIY kits we got for Christmas this year! I bought this kit on a whim, as I run a small soap business and was wondering if I should expand my product line to include lotions and creams. I didn't want to spend money on the individual ingredients, especially when I didn't know if I was going to like making lotion and if I was going to get results the first time trying. I now know the answer to that question. This kit was fun and easy to use and the scents are great. Everything you need is included in the kit, with instructions. I only have two minor gripes , the first one being that the preservative wasn't labeled. It wasn't a super big hairy deal, as everything else was labeled, so I was able to put 2 and 2 together; but I did have to look around in the box to make sure I wasn't missing something a few times, before I figured it out. The second thing was that, based on the instructions and way everything is packaged, you make one big batch of lotion but are given three different scents; meaning if you want to try all three scents, you have to split the batch into three once you are done mixing everything together. Once again not a big deal, but I do think it would be nice if they wrote the recipe so that it was a third of the batch size, and then included 3 servings of each ingredient. Overall, though I am very happy with this product. I would totally recommend it to anyone who is interested in lotion making and doesn't want to invest in it quite yet, or anyone who wants to make a fun treat for friends and family.

This was my first time making homemade lotion. The packaging was really cute and the directions were extremely easy to follow. The fragrances smell wonderful and the lotion feels very moisturizing. I plan on gifting some and keeping some. I'll definitely continue to purchase more kits.

I liked the experience of making the emotion however for me the product ended up being very watery? I did use a standard measuring cup. The scent was good but I would’ve liked a stronger scent. The lotion itself is pretty good at moisturizing and did make my hands feel soft after using it, but I would need to use more wax and less water next time.

This was one of my first DIY kits so I wasn't sure what to expect. As I unpackaged everything making sure all was there, and it was. The only 2 problems I has was the directions don't say to split the recipe and I was abit confused on the different scents once getting to that point. The other problems was actually pouring into the supplied containers without a small funnel. I ended up using my baster and it took sometime but worked. Now that I have done several DIY homemade items, it will be a breeze to do this again. The lotion never separated and smelled as well as felt wonderful on my skin & those I gave it as gifts to. Definitely recommend this product with the addition of a small funnel.

Ultimately, I really like this lotion kit. The smell is great and the final product is really nice. I had a bit of a hard time making it, primarily because I wasn’t sure if the lotion was thickening properly. I ended up using an immersion blender for 20 mins, which probably was unnecessary because it thickened up more once it cooled. The other thing I suggest is to use a funnel to get the lotion into the bottles. I spilled a lot using a funnel so I have no idea how you could do it without a funnel! But even after spilling there was still more than enough to fill all the containers. Super fun project and I would definitely buy it again!

My kids and I used the kit to make Mother’s Day gifts for all the Moms in our family. This was a really fun and easy to use kit and everyone loved their gifts!! We saw the reviews where some people had difficulty with the thickening step. While we did blend for a few minutes while hot, it thickens beautifully with the 2nd blending after waiting 30 mins for the mixture to cool and after adding the scented oils. This was so much fun and smelled so amazing we will be trying this again!! I just wish they had other kits to try!!

I've become interested in soap making and thought lotion-making was a lateral move. I thought a DIY kit was the way to go since I had no idea what I was doing, and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised! The packaging is really cute which endeared me to the product already, but the scents were a m a z i n g! (My favorite was the lemon sugar fragrance oil and I have to check their site to see if they sell it separately.) After several duds picked from my local crafts store, I'm glad to have come across this. Scents and kits are expensive so it's really disheartening to get one and find you don't even like the product or can't use it. Urban Kangaroo was the exact opposite experience. I gave my mom the second bottle and she's asked me for more ever since! I'm definitely going to try their other kits.
