Dokken Canada Goose Dead Fowl

My dog was previously struggling to pick up geese while field hunting due to their size and weight. After getting use to fetching this dummy, she has no issues retrieving real birds anymore.

Our labradoodle loves chasing after this, unfortunately, the string that you hold to toss it has somehow been torn apart. Now we don't have a string to hold on to when throwing it.

Bought this to get my 11 month old hunting retriever comfortable retrieving large items because I will be taking him hunting for his first time this fall, and we usually get a few geese every duck hunt. Well made like all dokken dead fowls. Only thing I don't love is the fact that it is the size and weight of a somewhat small Canada goose. I'd have liked it to be closer to the larger size of Canadas in order to get him used to hauling in a huge bird, worst case would be he's trained to haul in something larger than average, which is why I gave it 4 stars. However, at the end of the day, Tom Dokken is the expert, not me. I will say, it's already tough to throw far as it is, so maybe that's why they kept it the size of a smaller Canada goose.

Product is very high quality and very durable. The weight mimics a real goose.

My dog Ivan loves it, Size is that of a small goose but it has good weight for training . My dog is a 9 month old Drahthaar @ 50 lbs.. seems to be very durable for training but its not a chew toy. Happy Hunting!!!

I purchased this as a pool toy for my labs. They go crazy over it and it's great exercise for them. I wish that the body of the goose was made out of a more resilient material. After a couple of throws, there are already bite makes and holes ripped into it. I understand that this is meant for training, but I thought it would stand up to being in a dogs mouth a little better.

Goose retriever trainer is great. A little heavy to throw. Suggest you save a goose wing from your last hunt and tape it to the decoy so you dog gets the scent.
