Worth every penny!
I’ve had many other kindles before this one and I am so impressed with the improvements they have made with the Signature edition! It’s so much faster! The set up was breeze! I love it. I really don’t understand people complaining about only having WIFI, perhaps they are buying these for the wrong reason if THAT is what they are focusing on. Download books before you leave the house, it’s not hard.

A worthy upgrade
First off--I've had Paperwhites since the very beginning, with the PW1. I've seen the progress that the Paperwhite has made and it's amazing.I have the Oasis's latest edition and it doesn't compare with the new Paperwhite. The new Paperwhite Signature has a sharper, clearer screen. No, this doesn't have physical turn buttons, but it turns pages more quickly than any other Kindle I've seen. The animation is smoother moving from one page to another and the Kindle itself is just faster. Moreover, the page flip animation is so fluid.I have to say that I love this new Kindle. I'm a little sad that the Signature doesn't have an LTE/4G connectivity option, but I always have my phone for a quick hotspot.

Very pleased with this latest updated model
Second Edit: OK, I love this thing. The battery life is GREAT. I've been reading quite a bit (hours a day) and also turning it on and off a lot while loading books and messing around with settings. I'm leaving WIFI on all the time. After 4 days, power is still at 88%. My Oasis would have definitely been close to needing charging by now, even with WIFI off. I've also engaged the automatic light setting that warms the color (I have it set at about the middle warmth setting from 8 pm to 8am for my evening reading and morning paper). Very nice. I used to use the 'dark' setting in the evening. That was fine, but it was kind of a strange reading experience. The warm color is very comfortable and pleasant, and still lowers the ambient light so that my wife is not bothered by it if I read late in bed. Finally, this unit downloads very quickly compared to the Oasis and my other previous Kindles. I checked the specs and it is capable of using the 5G WIFI channel. Nice!I am an avid reader and have owned every Kindle model except the latest OASIS, which was a very minor update to the second version from 2017. I currently use the second OASIS model and am a fan. However, the glass/metal design is a bit heavy when combined with its size and it was always a bit slippery to hold. When I saw this Paperwhite Signature update with a screen that is virtually the same size as the OASIS (looks the same when placed side by side, but it is listed as slightly smaller) in a smaller, somewhat lighter package along with wireless charging, I was sold. The low price is a bonus.I noticed the increase in speed immediately. The screen quality is great and I will enjoy the different color shades carried over from the newest OASIS. It wirelessly charges seamlessly. GREAT. The extra storage capacity is not a big deal for me, since I only store books, but I'll take it.I haven't had it long enough to comment on battery life, but anything is better than the OASIS, which sucks battery power, and I would guess this will be an improvement. All in all a nice update, and except for the page turn buttons, gives you pretty much everything the current OASIS has to offer in a smaller, lighter package with some nice updates. Very happy!Edit: I downloaded the software update, which is now on the kindle update page. Very nice. I assume it will auto update for most users soon

Why is this Wi Fi only?
First of all, the battery life is based on 30 mins of reading a day (who is going to invest almost 200 dollars on a reading device if they're going to spend so little time on it?) It's going to run out way faster for me. Second it doesn't have cellular connectivity which means I can't download anything unless I'm at home so I can plug in-because I live in a rural area and Wifi is even more sketchy then 4G, and right now with my old one I have to go through a long complicated dance were I have to search for my wifi at least three times before it discovers it, then type in my password- such a waste of time- I wish it had 4G. with the one I had before that all I had to do was press "kindle store front" and bam, I was right there so fast and easy. My only other wish was that there was a way to change the settings so that home screen is just the tittles of my library and not a bunch of pictures, and suggestions-because I'm convinced the suggestions are draining my battery life( my old kindle's battery went from 6weeks to 1 week after that dumb update) Update! I got my new kindle and I love some of the new features, I found a way to change the library display and how to turn off the suggestions, then it started updating as soon as I got it set right and I got the stupid suggestions back
