It didn't work well for me. I layered a cake and fillings in this cake circle. Then after it was set I took the cake out and adjusted the ring slightly larger than the cake so I could fill it with mousse all around the side and top of the cake. My problem was with the indents the adjustable ring left in the mousse once I removed the ring. They were very noticeable. It's fine if it's just a cake I'm making for myself but nothing I could present to anyone else.

Good quality stainless ring. Stainless and not aluminum was important factor in my purchase choice.I have not used it to make cake, but have actually used it 2x while making a sourdough cob roll on a baking sheet in my steamer/convection toaster oven. It worked great to cause the bread to rise rather than spread on final proof.

This thing is indeed “adjustable”, as it can never lock in the position you adjust it to. It’s just too adjustable to use. If you try to lock it at 6 inch position, overtime, it will expand to 8... don’t buy if you don’t want to make a constantly growing cake.

I have used it to make two mousse cakes and they have turned out well. I use a clear acetate liner to line the inside. It is sturdy and easy to use. The edges of the metal are sharp so take care when washing it.I recommend using an acetate liner with this mold.

At first I questioned how much I'd like using this product. There is a clip on the inside of this cake mold that can and will cut into whatever you're building/molding/cutting. That said: this was much more effective as a support while transporting a 6' cake than the shorter cake rings I've used. and it's very easy to remove when you're ready to serve whatever you make with it.

I tried using it for the first time today and discovered that the smallest I could ever get the ring to go was 6 and 1/4 inches. For what I needed it for, the 6 inch diameter was a crucial feature and that 1/4 inch makes a huge difference. I am very disappointed that it won’t work for my needs. It seems very sturdy and durable otherwise. Just wish it was properly advertised reflecting the true diameter.

Works great, made a mousse layered cake and it worked great while the mousse set up in refrigerator.

I haven't used the mold yet but it's pretty sturdy. The only concern that I have is the size is difficult to adjust with the handles. I have to adjust the handle and then adjust the ring itself to move. It's not easy to adjust but the mold is strong. Since i will only use it for decorating I think it's a really good product and takes up less space than buying separate rings. Can't wait to use it.
