Coffee Tamper 58mm, EspressoTamper,Espresso Tool 304 Stainless Steel

A great looking tamper and perfectly sized for my 58mm basket. However, the wooden handle is hollow. I'm concerned the handle would crack over time and it isn't possible to submerge the tamper for cleaning because the handle would fill up with water.
