DO I NEED TO HAVE A MICRO SD CARD TO RECORD.? The camera is capable of 2 types of recordings. -When viewing the camera if you select to take a snapshot or record using the buttons under the camera view these pictures/videos will be stored locally on your mobile device. However, with recording you would need to be viewing the camera the whole time and start/stop the recording manually, this feature is only designed for a few minutes of recording. -With the SD card installed you can configure the camera to record directly to the Micro SD card, these settings can be found in the camera setting via the mobile app. There are instructions for these features under the FAQ section on the product support page. To View recorded footage, navigate to the "Image" button on the bottom of the app home screen, select the camera you want to view footage for and select "SD card recordings" if you are using an SD card to record or "Local Media" if you are not using an SD card. HOW CAN I CHANGE MY PASSWORD? There are 2 types of passwords associated with the camera: -The Account password (the password chosen to create the account when the app was initially launched on your device) -The Camera password, this password is used to access the camera, it is important to change this password from the default 888888 password to prevent other users from adding the camera to a different account or mobile device.

Good quality cameras
I have 8 now, I even use one outside under my front porch. It still works great after more than 2 years. I like it better than the fixed exterior camera because I can tilt it. Initial setup is difficult but I have gotten better at it. Customer service is also good and will get back to you quickly. The new black style has a slightly panoramic view but the picture quality could be better. So now I have 6 white, older style cameras and 2 newer. I have all recording with micro sd cards and 3 also recording on my computer. Overall I highly recommend them.

Buy something else
I ordered this camera in black. It has very good resolution. I had multiple problems with it though. It gets hotter than heck on the bottom. It drops offline nearly every day and has to be unplugged and rebooted. I can't get it to record to a laptop; only the SD card. Apparently it only records sound to the laptop; not the card. Or the sound can't be played back via the mobile app; I'm not sure. There were other issues and questions. Black Label Support was very responsive. They finally said it was defective and would replace it with a white one. I shouldn't have agreed to that. The white one has all the same issues, and now I don't have the original black one to return to Amazon. I've wasted my money and I'm tired of messing with it.

Easy set up not so easy operation
This camera is economical and works great. It came with a quick set up brochure but no instructions on how to operate it once it's connected to your WIFI network. You will need a mini SD card. I got 2 cards 32 Gb each. These need to be formattted in a computer before they will work in the camera. Now for the bad news. There's nothing intuitive about the Black LabelCamera app from the App Store. There is no instruction manual included that tells you how to operate the camera. For this you will have to go to the company's web site in a computer. You can then click on your model number and the operation instructions are fortunately there. Now that I know how to work it I love it. I' m using the motion detector mode to see which of my 3 dogs is messing in the house.

When it's not offline... it works fine
The problem I have been having is that goes offline a lot for no apparent reason. My internet is strong and it doesn't go out, but for some reason, this camera is always going offline. I have to unplug it and plug it back in and that seems to do the trick. But if I am not at home, I can't unplug it right away. That is frustrating. When it is online, it's working great for what I need. The color seems to go in and out too, but I can see what is going on and that is my main purpose.

Stop working after awhile
They worked great for awhile, but then went connect, say they're off line, or just stop the app from working. Bought 6 and only two are working. One was replaced by the company, but quit working after a month. Save your money and get something better!

The camera works great for what we need
The camera works great for what we need. The motion activation alerts us of movement when we aren’t home and we can look/listen in and check the dogs during the day. Great price and product.

The camera was good but the problem was in the formatting of the Sd card. Also when something was recorded no voice was heard. The instructions for using the camera are incomplete and the assistance requested was poor.

I'm pretty happy with it
I have 3 now, and it's convenient to be able to check on certain areas of the house from my desktop. I do wish there was a way to view these from the cloud while I'm traveling, but I don't believe that's an option. Still nice to have.
