Size:California King | Design:Box Spring Believe it or not, we’ve made the box spring more functional, more durable, and dare we even say, fun! Our Jayanna BiFold Box Spring is not your average foundation. It features a structure made of thick and durable steel, meaning that frames and mattresses may come and go, but this box spring will be with you for the long haul. What’s more, its folding design not only makes set-up insanely easy, but it also comes in handy on moving day, maneuvering easily in and around tight hallways and corners. Once unboxed, this brilliant foundation practically assembles itself by taking shape once unfolded. Essentially, deciding where to place the bed will take longer than setting up this box spring. Backed by both our 5-year worry free warranty and hundreds of positive customer reviews, the Jayanna box spring is about as easy as decisions get.

Excellent product, works well, easy set up.
I am a 56 year old woman and I was able to set this up all by myself. It was definitely a bit awkward and heavy-ish. It was not the easiest thing to do without a second person helping, but it is doable. The whole process (from box to finished with bedspread back on the bed) was about 20 minutes. There's nothing to it in terms of set up, other than the awkwardness of wrestling it out of the carton (it's kind of heavy), getting your mattress off the bed by yourself, wrestling the box spring onto the bed by yourself and then putting your mattress back on top by yourself. Once you get it out of the carton and you unfold it, the box spring "springs" to life. There is no assembly required other than unfolding it.It is for a guest bedroom so I haven't had any reports yet from guests sleeping on it. It looks sturdy and the perfect height for my platform bed. It has a much more inviting look now and will be easier for older guests to get in and out of the bed now. I didn't want a full height box spring because that would have been too high. This is perfect.I compared this against the least expensive Queen box spring I could have gotten delivered from a local mattress store and I saved over $100.00 overall (once you figure in $59 for white glove delivery, sales tax and the higher price for the box spring). I am very pleased with the purchase! The pictures I have attached show the process from box to finished bed. You can also compare how low my bed looked before versus how nicely elevated it is after adding the box spring.

Weak wire frame box spring
Do NOT couple this with a low profile mattress. The metal wires are very thin and cannot support much weight individually. If you have kids who like to hang out on the bed to watch TV, and frequently stand up to get on and off the bed, you're going to want to buy something sturdier than this. I bought this less than a month and a half ago, and all the wires on one side of the bed are already bent.

Sturdy, Easy to Use, and Works Great!
Search for my username on YouTube (dugroz) and you can see my review/unboxing of the product. This low-profile foundation does exactly what it says it is supposed to do, and does it very well. It comes in a fairly large box and is a bit heavy, so an elderly or frail person would likely need help. However, once it is unboxed, there is no assembly needed, just unfold it, flip it over, and zip it up. (As others said, if you flip it open in the instinctive way, you need to flip it over.) It would be very easy to take with you in a move. This is not a "Box of Springs" - there are no springs inside. 95% of modern mattresses do not need a true "box spring" anyhow so that's fine. The purpose is just to raise up your mattress. It does not soften the mattress, nor is it designed to. "Foundation" is the better name. The bars are about 1/4 inch thick, and about 3 inches apart. The Foundation (as I measured it) was almost exactly 4 1/4" high (no big deal for me, but just noteworthy if you need "exactly" 4 inches in height).I was a bit Leary about using this with my Hybrid mattress since I was afraid that (because the bottom is foam) it would sink through. However, I emailed the mattress company and they assured me that this foundation is fine to use (I have a Sapira mattress). About 3 weeks of use so far, it's holding up fine, and the mattress works very well with it. Very sturdy, no sagging. No noise, no squeaking. We have a queen and it supports two grown adults just fine (the paperwork that came with it says that the queen size and up can support 2,400 lbs. of weight, which seems a bit ridiculous (2 people plus mattress weighing 2,400 lbs???), but the idea is that it is sturdy. .The sides are a nice patterned white cloth. Nice enough that we have not felt the need to cover it with a sheet like with did with our old one! I would recommend this foundation if 4 inches is the best height for your bed setup.Edit: 05/01/2017 - Still holding up great.

Not made of stronger stuff
Not for an overweight person. I had this on top of the slats from a Zinus King bed under a Purple mattress. When I got a look at the frame 4 months later when returning the mattress I noticed that the side i sleep on was bent quite a bit. I weigh over 300lbs so I guess the twin version (the king version is two twins), can't handle ~400lbs of me and half the mattress. I e-mailed them a week ago but haven't gotten a response. I know what Zinus is, they make stuff that is not truly cheap but also isn't high quality, but it usually gets the job done for the budget. Considering I ordered this because the slats they ship are way too thin for anything but a super stiff bed like I had before, it should have been suitable. I suspect this will be my last Zinus product and I will just have to shell out the money for sturdier stuff. The photos show my side which is all indented, and my dogs side which is still flat, he only weighs 35lbs.

Where has this technology been????
We bought a new Jamison King mattress in February of this year and not a more than 6 months of sleeping on it; it began to squeak horribly.Calls and emails to the Jamison company were a dead end but some research online pointed to the box springs as the culprit. Specifically, wood box springs are notorious for squeaking. After suffering from a squeaky new bed for a couple months I lucked out and was able to test this STEEL box spring.Installation was a breeze. I have attached a series of photos showing the process. You simply lay the folded box spring in place then pull it open. It automatically tightens itself as it opens resulting in a very taught box spring.Best part.....no more squeaking!!! I immediately noticed a more firm feel to the mattress as well.I do think the instruction card could have been a little clearer as you do need to flip the box spring once it's opened but that's minor compared to the sanity I get now that my bed doesn't squeak.Bottom line......every box spring I buy going forward is going to be steel.

No noise!!!
I've waited over 3 months before writing this review. We purchased an expensive 18 inch mattress from a local retail store almost two years ago and bought the matching 4 inch bed foundation to fit our existing sleigh bed. While I loved the comfort of the new mattress, I was really bothered by the noise it made every time my husband or I would move.... then to add to my disappointment, after about a year, it felt like the mattress was sagging in the center, despite replacing the cross bed rail supports on on our sleigh bed.... I did some research and found that our foundation actually had box board on top!!!! (For a mattress that cost $3000, the foundation that was sold with it did not meet the quality of the mattress. The wood construction was flimsy as well). Then I found the zinus foundation online, read through the reviews and ordered with reserved expectations. I was very happy and relieved, however! This foundation is of the highest quality- very solidly built, the packaging and workmanship are amazing, and I know it will surpass the life of my expensive mattress. The sagging of our mattress is no longer there (confirming that it was our crappy foundation), and best of all- absolutely no noise! Now, I am finally loving the mattress that was purchased at a brick and mortar and not regretting having spent so much on it! This foundation would also be perfect if we ever decided to move, as compared to a traditional box spring. It folds in half and is very compact. Highly recommended.

Cheaper than other options but just as effective
Something that I can fit up my narrow staircase!A traditional queen boxspring will not fit into my bedroom. You can buy two separate half pieces but he warned: the price listed is usually for one. This was the most economical choice. As a box spring is works fine. Lower profile than I would have liked and is mismatched from my mattress but neither is an issue.I would easily recommend this to anyone who can't fit a queen boxspring into their apartment or condo.

The cover on a bifold box spring .
I had purchased a Queen size bed that was advertised as a platform bed ..but it come with only 4 slats..we felt better to get the box spring ..it’s worked very well with a 10” mattress and having the extra 4 “I gave it 4 ..as l found the cover difficult to put on ..it had slipped off ...the key was to get all corners on before opening it up ...Yes l would recommend this buy

Great product!
This box spring was perfect for our house. The movers couldn’t get my box spring up the stairs in our older house are too small. This worked perfectly as it’s folded up. Easy to assemble.

Excellent value
Box spring exactly as advertised. Having it fold in half when shipped is extremely convenient for delivery into a small area. No assembly required - simply unfold on bed base. Seems to be well made. Very happy with this purchase.
