Easy replacement shower screen for the Solis Barista Perfetta.Remove the screw holding the shower screen (need a metric hex key), the stock screen easily pulls off with your fingers, the IMS screen fits perfectly :-)However, on the Solis Barista Perfetta, you have to be CAREFUL when you replace the screw. The group head is made of PLASTIC. It you cross thread or torque down on the screw, you can easily strip the threads in the group head.The plastic group head makes cleaning the back of the screen a problem. This is a fault of Solis, in making the group head out of plastic, rather than metal. Because of this, on the Solis Barista Perfetta, I would limit as much as possible how often I clean behind the screen.Update: Do NOT bother with this for the Solis Barista Perfetta. You trade one problem for another. The screen will cause a jetting of water to the side of the portafilter, cutting a channel into the puck.It will probably be simpler and cheaper to use a puck screen.

I've never used anything else and it has worked flawlessly. Before backflushing I sometimes give it a quick wipe to see if any coffee comes off on the paper towel but combined with a nice Normcore puck filter it's always clean.

The media could not be loaded. After looking into many tips for better extraction. I decided to purchased this IMS shower screen. I have used it for about a week now. As far as the the quality of this shower screen, it does have some scratches. I was little skeptic about the product, but decided to give a try.It fits very well with my BES 880 model. The extraction does seem to be better if you prep and tamp your coffee well. Still little channeling issue with first 10 seconds, but after that it was perfect.I did pair it with IMS precision filter basket. Still waiting on my Espresso Stirrer. My coffee grinder has clumps that I don’t really break it apart. I do think with combination of stirrer, correct tamping pressure, you will have a better extraction and taste.Would recommend upgrading your shower screen to this one.

We’re always working to reduce channeling. Considering the reputation of IMS’ filter baskets, I decided to give their shower screen a try. Nope. You could see a couple divots in each puck and the channeling got worse. I went back to my stock Breville screen. The divots disappeared and I’m not having constant issues with channeling.

In case you have been wondering, The Solis Barista Perfetta uses pretty much the same components as Breville and anything that works with 54mm Machines like the Bambino is gonna work with the Solis. I have added and IMS precision basket and a 54mm Breville bottomless portafilter as well, and these 3 products have made a HUGE difference in my espresso on the Solis. The IMS shower screen and basket have eliminated channeling and splattering so far, and also allow me to grind much finer, so I'm getting richer crema and better consistency on the shots. Highly recommend anyone with the Solis machine to upgrade these parts.

This screen fits fine on the Express, but it doesn't work well. I'm not sure how it is on other espresso machines, but on the Express, the water comes out of a single hole in the plastic above the shower screen. That hole is in the back right. Unfortunately, this screen has a ring of holes about the same distance away from the center as where the above mentioned hole is. This basically gives you a 50/50 chance depending on how the screen is rotated, of whether the water discharge hole is directly above one of this screen's set of holes. If this is the case, you'll see a depression at a particular spot in your grounds puck after a shot, which is where it's channeling. IMS could have designed around this issue, but they didn't.

Just two shots in, and I can say that this screen is an upgrade from the stock unit. I had to adjust my grind slightly finer, but that's very minor.Shots are running smooth. For those with issues when using this, it could be as simple as a grind size issue or a dose amount. I find that 17g is about the max(med-light roast) dose that a breville barista express can really handle. Also, WDT seems crucial with this machine.If you're looking at this screen, chances are you're already using WDT with your espresso preparation. I do believe that this screen is the next step to upgrade your set up.

It is exactly as advertised. Noticed the improvement and taste with my extractions.Love it!
