Never worry about your vehicle’s paint job again with 3M Clear Protective vinyl film. This film goes on clear and transparent, allowing your paint job to shine through while protecting your paint and vehicle from damage due to gravel, sand, road debris or insects. To apply, simply clean and dry the surface and apply this vinyl wrap sheet over, smooth out the surface and cut off the edge. It will not damage your paint job or headlights or leave any residue when removed. To install, simply clean and dry the surface and apply this vinyl wrap sheet over top, smooth the surface out with a squeegee and cut off the excess. It will not damage your paint job or headlights or leave any residue when removed.

easy to install
this film is easy to install, i wish it would come with a tool to allow cutting round edges instead of sharp edge to minimize possible lifts.I installed several pieces of the film on my Brompton where the cables touch the frame to reduce friction and damage to the paint.I’ll update that review regarding durability in 6 months after the winter here. It’s a bit harder to install of course where tubes are meeting but after the 1st attempt you become a quick expert.

Great product once installed which can be a pain
I used this on my bikes and small automotive applications. Like a lot of film protection it's easy to install on flat or minimal curved surfaces. This film is pliable and has a bit of stretch to help conform to curves. I've cut out notches to help around curves. I spent more time drawing and cutting out a pattern to fit the surface than actually installing it. Once the pattern is right, the install goes pretty fast and pushing from the center out helps push bubbles out and then pulling on the edges helps make it tight and seamless.

Bike wrap
Use this for protecting my bike frame. Works good. Had bike on a tailgate pad and pad wasnt ver good. It rubbed the wrap but not the paint.

It’s ok
When putting this item on it doesn’t give enough vinyl around the edges so you end up getting finger prints in the vinyl. Makes zero sense, but it is holding up

Why would you not
If you have invested large sums of money into a bike why would you not spend $20 and protect the paint job. I used a whole 10’ roll on my new XL Santa Cruz. It does not like to go around hard bends easily and cleanly but i made it work. Spray your bike down with water for easier install then squeegee the water out and let it dry.

Must haves for excellent application: Patience, attention to detail and patience
Let’s start with the fact that I am not a patient person nor has anyone ever said to me “wow you have great attention to detail” when working on projects. I am also not allowed to paint edges of walls or apply caulk.Stickiness: sooooo sticky! Actually concerned that it’s going to leave sticky residue when I eventually take it off. But being that sticky is a good thing, worst case I’ll use goo off or something to remove. I have a very white bike that is such a pain to keep clean that the any time spent removing residue will be less than all of the time spent gently scrubbing this bike every 2-3 weeks.Width:I got 4 inch roll, kinda wish they made a pack that included strips of different lengths because 4” worked in some places but was too wide or too skinny in others. Not being a professional at this, I decided to leave some spots empty. Not the worst outcome thoughAppearance: please note again, I am not a professional so there are definite thumb prints, smudges and of course imperfect applications of the material. But with all that said, you can’t see the bad job I did in pictures. Will I be embarrassed when I take the bike into the shop? Yes for sure. But between us, I don’t think anyone else will notice. So it’s pretty shiny!Overall: I hope this keeps my bike cleaner which I think it will and that it protects it when I have to lock it up next to other monsters in public :) if this works, it will 100% keep me riding throughout winter in Seattle!

Time consuming, good protection, tricky to install
I ordered 4"x96" roll for my medium size Mountain Bike and it was NOT enough. It was only enough to cover all sides of the seat stays, chain stays and the very bottom of the seat tube. Need to order another roll to cover the down tube and fork. It's not easy to install. I used a spray bottle with soapy water (just add some Dawn dish soap to the water). This method worked really well. It gives you plenty of time to move around your pieces and get them in the right position. It took me about 3+ hrs just my first time doing this on the mountain bike and I didn't even finish the whole thing. It's very tricky to cut your pieces correctly for different parts of the frame that are curved and tapered. You end up with air bubbles but if you keep working those air bubbles with the included squeegie, by the time the soapy water dries you will get a nice tight fit. Maybe a few minor air bubbles in a few places but no big deal. Your bike frame is much more protected now, which is the whole point. My mountain bike has a matte finish carbon fiber frame. This 3M tape is glossy, so it looks now like part of the bike is glossy and parts and matte.

Definitely EXPENSIVE for the amount you get!!!
I just needed a small piece to cover brittle plastic on my Anker Soundcore Life Q30 headphones. It came cut to size - 4x12" exact. The film does look clear. I'll have to put this on and update my review. I'm starting the review with 3-stars. Can move up or down after my application on my headphones.

Good protector film
I used this on a section of my motorcycle gas tank, to protect the paint there I mount my phone (magnets on back) and it works great, doesn't show any wear on the film itself, and has a nice grippy texture.Would definitely buy again.

Perfect solution for rock guard
Bought this for rock guard on Triumph TR6. Used 3M 94 primer for the edges and dry fit due to heavy curve. Super thick and very stretchy for making the curve and rock protection. Reforms nicely under heat. Only thing lacking is air release feature and a bit hard to pinprick bubbles. Would be very easy install if done wet method under less extreme curves. Will probably settle down better in time with heat from sun exposure. Otherwise pleased.

Great product and customer service
Product worked great and was easy to install as long as you spray down the adhesive side with water before slowly applying. super clear and was perfect as protection for my car where i place my bike rack. Supplier customer service was fantastic. One roll i received was damaged and Amazon declined the return. A quick message to the supplier and they had a replacement sent my way.
