I put a good layer on the bottom and on top if the potting soil. Perfect amount. Looks great with terra cotta colored pot too.

I keep reordering this because I just love the size and how it works with my succulents. Not too big like some of the larger stones

I've been wanting to make these as a fun craft to do with the ladies in my life. I had to test it out first. I had some shells that I brought back from a beach trip which I added to the rocks.The rocks did come muddy, so I had to use a strainer to wash them out. My garbage disposal wasn't too happy about that. I should have picked a better strainer option.

They work well but I did wash them and they turned dark black and shiny like they said in the product info. However they go back to greyish color when dry... So I have mixed feelings.

Happy with this purchase. The bag of rocks goes a long way. I was able to cover three potted plants with them, with half a bag left over. Gives my potted plants that finishing touch. Would buy again.

I'm a newb when it comes to all things gardening related; that said, the 3lb bag is probably the equivalent of 1.5 -2 cans of soda if it were a liquid. Get more than you think you need. I ended up using spare plastic storage containers to assist in filling in the volume and it still came up short.

This review is based on and for aquariums. The gravel is not all grey/black there are some white gravel rocks included. Also there was a bunch of random media in the gravel itself, looked like tree bark or something similar. If this is being used for a fish tank be prepared for some small manual labor to get it presentable. Also it’s not as glossy as the images present once submerged in water.

Saw this product recommended by a local succulent terrarium designer and decided to take the chance on it working well for me to repot some succulents and a cactus that needed a larger pot. It works great and have not had any problems with Fungus gnats or other pestilence! Looks beautiful and adds to the look of my plants!
