The umbilical hernia belt is intended for conservative treatment of umbilical hernia, in case of surgical contraindication, and for prevention of abasement and impaction of hernial sac. Attention! This belt should only be used under medical supervision. Hernia belts can be used at hospitals and in the process of outpatient care. During an early postoperative period the belt is used continuously and is taken off only during sleep. As soon as the postoperative suture has healed, one can move on to temporary wearing of the belt, predominantly when bearing physical loads. The product consists of two parts: an elastic belt and a cotton cover where a bandage is inserted. The size is chosen according to the waistline size. Putting on the bandage in a lying position is recommended, following reduction of hernia protrusion. The semi-rigid bandage is placed on the umbilical area; then the belt is fixed with the help of the Velcro fastening. It is necessary that the belt fit tightly to the body, at the same time not disturbing the blood supply to soft tissues.
