Uh-oh, doesn't look good...
I just ordered and received this item. It is my third PenPower product. As soon as I received it, it was removed from the Amazon website with the notation that Amazon didn't know if it would ever be back... That doesn't sound good, and doesn't inspire confidence. But in any case, I will proceed to a quick review, based on only a few days of use in a limited situation.First, the product is hampered by the usual PenPower warning that the item can be used on only one computer or tablet, destroying any hope of any real usefulness as a text input or convenient translation device. The voice oriented or TTS features are also nullified by this limitation. But this has been going on for years, so maybe they enjoy shooting themselves in the foot.More important is the fact that the software to use it with Windows is NOT available on the company website. With the previous two PenPower products I bought, I wound up using only the PenPower driver for input, then using other companies software to make use of the product. Frustrating... With this pen scanner, the most basic software is in the scanner, so I have been able to use it right out of the box, not even a driver is needed. But this is where the whole issue becomes one of extreme disappointment and frustration. The damn scanner seems to work extremely well. So far, it works so well that I was given false hope that the previous problems were solved. Input was smoother and more accurate than on the other two products, without exception. However, the explanations in the documentation are totally inadequate for the first time user. In my case, I have had to fight with most of the various issues before, so the learning curve was not so steep. But a total first time user may give up in frustration.I will try to update this review after I use the PenPower Go for a few more days, but it seems that I will be forced, as before, to only use the input function with the scanner pen, then go to other companies for the use of the text I input with the PenPower Go product. If the input feature continues to be as smooth as it has been so far, this will meet my needs, as other companies have appeared to offer extremely good TTS functionality. But it would have been nice to have the solution all in one place.By the way I am using this product to input large amounts of technical material (popular science, so scientific and technical vocabulary, but no math or scientific formulas...) in simplified Chinese, and using that input in Chinese without translation.More to come.

Item is very convenient and helpful with those with disabilities
some of the features are harder to use than others I have not tried the other ones to see which one is easier to use but I like this one for word recognition simply scan and wait for a response, highly recommend for technical documents or people with vision impairment or dyslexia.

Not a good product for Blind People and broken on arrival
I ordered this because it was recommended for vision impaired people to assist with reading my prescription labels, but when I read the instructions, it said to align a tiny black line across the text and I knew immediately that it would not help me. I cannot see the the tiny black line to even begin to align it across text I also cannot see. I did not even turn it on. But my sister was trying to help me and she could not get it to turn on. We followed all the trouble-shooting tips and it still won't turn on. So, I tried to return it and found out it was not eligible for a return. That's $150 I can't get back for a broken product. I cannot even sell it since it's broken. DO NOT ORDER THIS. IF IT COMES BROKEN, YOU WILL JUST BE OUT THE MONEY.

No translation of text to a file
In general, it is a nice and very handy tool. Although you need some skinny fingers to get the settings done, it is easy to do so. The translation of the text to speech is good to very good, depending on the direction. If I use it to scan German text to translate into English it is very good, not so in the other direction. It is noticeable that the speaker is not German and with that pronunciation of some words is horrible. The one thing I really miss and that was the main reason why I bought it, is, that it doesn't create translated textfiles. You can only create text files of the language you scan. And for that function, there are better tools.Another, very annoying thing is the disconnection from the computer when you actually operate the scanner. It should have a way to choose if you want to scan direct to the computer or if you want to store it on the scanner. Finally, I can't give it more than 3 stars, because of not translating to text files, not connecting while scanning, and the sometimes unintelligible pronunciation of German words.

Nice product and Easy to use
I started to learn French not too long ago. I can just use this pen to scan the sentences to translate them from English to French or French to English. This is way faster than looking up on computer or smartphone. I also found that the two-way speech translation function can be used for one person. I used it as a translator: I speak English to it, and the translated French will show up on the screen. The pen can also read the translations so that I don’t have to keep looking at the screen. On their website, it says that the pen supports 112 types of languages. I bet they’ve never thought of using it this way like I did. I figured that I would share this little trick to everyone. If you are still using the old translation pen from 10 years ago, you should really think about switching to this one. This pen can do both speech and scan! I think it's a helpful tool for language learners.

Easy to use. Pretty Accurate.
This pen works well. It's pretty accurate, but all these pens are a bit hard to scan text perfectly. There is a delay with processing, but again, I haven't found a pen that doesn't do that. The translate feature is pretty fun to use.
