Spellbinding Images: A Fantasy Coloring Book of Witches: Extended Edition

I have all of Nikki Burnette's books x2. This book is a revised version of the 1st book and it is great. She has grown so much as an artist since the first book by leaps and bounds. The pictures are beautiful, has much more intricate details with the witches and their backgrounds. As stated after the 20 pictures they are repeated in 5 by 7, but closer up views, then you have the grid drawing exercise, I'm game, I don't expect much because an artist I am not. In my opinion these are absolutely beautiful pictures, they have clear, sharp lines. As with all of her books I bought 2 copies of this book. The paper is medium weight, with medium tooth. Takes colored pencils beautifully, if using wet media use a blotter page.I give this coloring book 5 huge stars. You will not want to miss coloring book.I almost forgot every page is single sided, nothing on back of pages, YOO HOO.If I forgot something I'm sorry.

When I read that there was an Extended version to the Spellbinding Images volume 1 I chose to order both versions. It's a choice that I am glad to have made.This extended version has a lot of detail added to the back grounds of the 20 pictures. Along.with giving a lot of detailing to the outfits the witches are wearing. At the far left bottom corner a name for each witch is also given. I like the pictures as the are shown in both books and, would really have liked to have seen them together in one book.This book also contains a section of Mini's that are small close ups of each of pictures. This is a feature that was not as appealing as it would have been for me. Do to the pictures being cropped in a odd manner where the witches hat's have been cut out. Giving each witch a look like they are auctioning for the 80's band Devo video shoot since they have 1/2 hat on.The last section gives you a chance to try and draw the 20 full size witches by using the grid method. This section may interest some adults or younger budding artists , it wasn't really something I was looking for.Overall thoughts+ informative instruction pages with each section.+ better then average createspace paper. Markers bleed through but , my gel pens don't.+ pictures are only on one side of the page , the back is blank.+ Grids are given for those who like drawing a feature I haven't seen given for every picture before.-the minis look is a odd choice, as it looks like printing error.- While the author mentions the pages are one- sided for removal or framing. The pages aren't perforated.Even if I do think there is room for improvement on some details of this book I enjoy Nikki Brunette's light hearted presentation of witches and would definitely recommend this book to others.

AS WITH ALL NIKKI BURNETTE'S BOOKS...THIS ONE IS OFF THE CHAIN!!!! IT HAS SOME REALLY PRETTY DESIGNS TO COLOR AND THE FACES OF THE WITCHES ARE GORGEOUS. AND THE BACKGROUND SCENES AREN'T BAD EITHER!!!!! PRINTED ON BRIGHT WHITE HEAVY WT. PAPER. BUT I'D STILL PUT A BACKING PAPER UNDER THE PAGE YOU ARE COLORING IF YOU ARENT SAVING THE BOOK BY PRINTING EACH PAGE OUT.

This book has a lot of fun images to color. Lots of fun for Halloween/ The images are all on one side which is very nice.The artwork is fun without being to hard to color. I like it a lot.

I love this book, th images are beautiful and well rendered for coloring! I thing my favorite part of this book the is the grid drawing section. I can't draw, but hope that doing the way it say there can help me learn. You really should get this book!

All her books are great. I bough two of these, the other for a friend whose bday is on Halloween. She loves it too!

Relaxing hobby

Superb book with plenty of options for colouring. The pictures are very quirky and the paper is reasonable quality. I have used gel pens and there has been no bleed through but would not advise using markers but Pablos, Prismas and Polychromos work very well

I greatly enjoy this book. The variety of full detail pages, plus smaller "zoomed in" images and the drawing pages make for such a nice mix in one book. The images are wonderful, some are highly detailed while others are more simple. I would have given it 5 stars but found the paper quality to not be that good. It's rough and prismacolors and polychromos pencils still had lots of white space, even after using a blender pencil. Would like better paper to get nicer finishes when coloring. Other than that though I loved the book and would still recommend it. :)
