It's strange to review something that came out forty years ago.
I'm guessing this record would be considered a "sleeper". While it doesn't contain any huge classic rock staples, there's plenty of great singing, writing, and playing throughout. My favorite tracks were "Island Girl", "Rock n Roller", and "Ocean Breeze", but it's all good. The only downside is that it has a very period 70's sound. It still compares favorably to what anyone is doing these days.

1st effort gold
Though the group went on to have many top 40 soft rock hits in the late 70's, and the formula that got those hits are amply displayed here, this album brought Ocean Breeze to the world, giving a glimpse of the true level of talent these guy's really had. At 12+ minutes, few stations ever played it. That tune is worth the price of admission.

What a great debut album, and more followed.
Their first album was a perfect fit into the times of the 70's. Their sound unique, moving and infectious. The musicianship top notch. They played at San Mateo high school, when I was a junior, just before this album was released and I was hooked. The release of "A Place in the Sun" only proved their excellence. I agree! Ocean Breeze is a must hear. I remember singing this to my girlfriend as we listened to the album together. A beautiful piece. Very moving.

truly the best unknown band
listening tot his takes me back to a time and place that knows no time not place--san francisco in the 70's, a sweet time of concerts, people everywhere mixing in every way and time, and this band, a breath of clean white boys making time to the sea, a breath with each wave rolling in and out. innocence.

great CD
This is Pablo Cruise's first album, before they sold out and became commerical. The vocals on Ocean Breeze are about the best any vocals can be. Ocean Breeze is a long song and a lot of it is instrumental, the vocals coming in at the end. That song alone is worth the price of this CD, but other songs on it are great as well.

The first and the best.
I would listen to this album to go to sleep at night for many years, starting at age 19. It is their best album, and someone reminded me of the band, and so i had to order the CD.

Pablo Cruise frist album
This album came out while I was in college. I listened to the tape so much that I actually wore it out. When I noticed that the CD was available I had to order it. I love this gentle smooth rock music.

Really good music - Stands the test of time.

OK
I bought it for one song (in its long version), pretty progressive-art rock near Ambrosia of the first 2 cds, the others being pretty lame.

アルバムに入っている「In My Own Quiet Way」は最高の1曲です。
