Anointed, but not enough cautions
This is a powerful book on fasting - the whys and wherefores, and how to go about it. After reading this book, I was 100% ready to go.The problem is there is not enough cautionary information on what to do if you encounter trouble. In my case, I developed intestinal pain, and should have aborted the fast much sooner than I did. It turns out the fast had uncovered problems with gallstones that were affecting the pancreas and intestines, and ultimately the kidneys. This ended up being no small problem.I would recommend you supplement this book with something like Bill Bright's fasting guidelines, which you can find free online, or actually buy his full book. Between "Atomic" and Bright I think you'll have a more complete preparation going into a major fast. I also think it's a good idea to start slow if you're not used to fasting, or your body is not in great shape, or you're older. Go on a juice fast or a cleansing fast first, see how it goes, and then graduate to a water-only fast. Do it for a short time at first, and carefully gauge how your body is reacting.I am convinced by this book that fasting is a powerful discipline sorely neglected by Christians today. But make sure you go about it safely and correctly.

The Secret to Spiritual Power in the Kingdom of God
This little book inspires people to embark on a 40 day fast. Hall provides very practical information about the different stages of the fast and what people can expect during those stages. He also reveals the purification process that a long fast accomplishes, setting people free from a variety of afflictions and bondages. The end result is power. Prolonged seasons of prayer and fasting creates the new wine skin that can hold the new wine, and allows us to be clothed with the power of God. It now comes as no surprise to me that the first miracle of Jesus was the act of changing water into wine at the wedding in Cana. The Jews at the wedding washed in the water pots for purification. Jesus, however, drank nothing but the water of purification for 40 day before he attended the wedding. He didn't need the purification, but He needed to be clothed with power. His first miracle showed the servants of Jesus carrying the water of purification to the guests of the wedding, and as they served the guests, the water became wine. The water of purification on a 40 day fast becomes the new wine of the kingdom of God, which can then be administered to those who need salvation. The 40 day fast is the secret weapon of the kingdom of God, the key that opens the heavens to all those who want to serve the Lord in power.

Outstanding!
Rev. Franklin Hall's books may be old, but that almost makes them more important for the modern Christian who lacks some of the biblical principles of the olden years. This book is great for enhancing and growing in your Christian spiritual life, as well as enhance your physical health. What I don't like about these books is too many testimonials. However, I still highly recommend them to all Christians for growing in Christ.

A must-read classic.
Learn how to successfully enter, navigate and exit a God-chosen fast. This book is a must-read classic for every sincere, old fashioned Christian who wants a Bible-designed (not church-designed) relationship with Jesus.

In-Depth Analysis on Fasting and Praying
I truly loved this amazing book. "Atomic Power with God Thru Fasting and Prayer gives a thorough breakdown of the dos and don'ts of Fasting and Prayer. Mr. Franklin Hall gives several reasons to fast and the importance of praying as well. He relates how fasting and prayer will bring areas we may lack in.Mr. Hall not only gave his experience, he also gave experiences of others and how cupping fasting and prayer brought new life into their lives. The importance of faith was also emphasized. Mr. Hall stated that if we even lost faith, lack of praying, and even wayward our relationship from God then this method of Fasting and Prayer is truly beneficial. How to begin and break a fast was so detailed, I was in awe. I, personally, was not taught about fasting and prayer in the magnitude that Mr. Hall implemented in his book. I recommend this book to every person who yearns for a life-changing encounter. I have so much more to say about this amazing book. I will reflect back to this book as often as I need to. Purchase this book, follow the guidelines and your life will be rewarding. I have begun this journey. Be Bless.

manipulates the bible!
This book's content not only is outdated telling you to fast an infant for days to get rid of pimples but also manipulates scripture to say all fat people are bad. through reading this book there is at least one highlight on every page that is false teaching or medically outdated material. please use discernment when reading this! if you dont know your scripture well enough you will think its a good book so dont let it mislead you!

Both were recommended. To appreciate Hall's book
I read Arthur Wallis's book after reading Franklin Hall's 'Atomic Power with God'. Both were recommended. To appreciate Hall's book, I think a comparison will help. (I'm submitting much the same review for both books.)It took Hall's book to really stir my interest in thinking about fasting. It took Wallis' book to better ground the subject, stripping away exaggerated expectations and ill-informed assumptions about medicine that are littered throughout APwG. Wallis takes a more balanced if perhaps over-cautious approach, but then he doesn't want spiritual 'needless casualties of war', to coin a phrase.. Wallis doesn't mention Hall, but if you have read both, you can see that Wallis is aware of Hall, is critical, and is subtly restoring balance, without ever once naming names (or crediting Hall, perhaps to avoid advertising his flawed books). Both books are replete with scripture, but Wallis' interpretation of scripture comes from a cooler mind. Reading Hall first, I was surprised to have my attention drawn to how-to-do lessons in Jesus' preaching. How had I so overlooked it? Perhaps because I'd never given the subject thought, never thinking it was something for me. One thing I did get from both books is that fasting doesn't earn spiritual merit, but rather punches through the spiritual fog that sometimes envelopes Christians. Can't hear from God? Can't sense his presence anymore? Unanswered prayer? Try fasting. Think of it as a 'weapon of our warfare' (spiritual, not physical warfare, of course!). There are no guarantees of breakthrough, and breakthrough often comes after the fasting has ended. How and why? No-one really knows? Leave that with God. But if you're getting nowhere, consider doing so, but read Wallis first as a minimum, preferably over Hall. Both cover all of this.Hall's approach is a more extreme water-only for days/weeks on end approach. Enough to put people off. Wallis doesn't put that on the reader. Both discuss different degrees of fasting: skip a meal, fast a day, water-only or not, some food or none? The options are covered by both authors. Hall is more perfectionistic, and Wallis more balanced as mentioned, so I recommend Wallis' advice more. Before any longer fast, we would really need to be well-informed for health reasons, and in the absence of knowledge passed on by Jew/Christian to Jew/Christian in antiquity, I strongly suggest it is important to read a well-informed book. Not least you don't want to come to grief during or after the fast, when you have to think about what your body is physically capable of. One thing I learned is that nothing in fasting is spiritual in itself: it is simply a physical thing that some people (including many non-Christians) do purely for health reasons from time to time (Hall emphasises this). If you want spiritual benefit, you have to apply yourself to that.If you read only one book, read Wallis's. If you read both, then Hall might really ignite your enthusiasm, and Wallis might just bring more common-sense. But as mentioned, Wallis may be over-cautious, and if you take him too literally, you might never start a fast! Hall stirs up enthusiasm to start, Wallis brings measured wisdom before you do so.By the way, an honourable mention too to Roger Forster's booklet 'Fasting' for basically focussing on scripture - Bible study can't be a bad place to start if you want to consider fasting.

I really love this book
I really love this book. As soon as I started reading it I was inspired to take a fast and did one for 8 days without eating and only drinking water. Surprisingly after the first couple of days I didn't feel hungry at all and the fast got easier as the days past - I felt so much healthier for doing it. I intend to embark on a longer fast within the next week or so. This book has been inspirational.
