Great book for anyone setting out using sewing machine. Clear instructions and good variety of projects to try

I bought this book for my granddaughter’s 10th birthday. It has great projects that help with learning how to use a sewing machine. We made one together and she has made another with her mum. She’s already chosen others that she wants to make. I would recommend.

This book has some fairly good ideas but I think the explanations etc are a bit wordy for children. It’s fine used by an adult with a child together.

This book is well written with clear easy to follow instructions. It has projects from complete beginners to more advanced. I bought this for my 7 year old granddaughter as she is always asking what she can sew and all of the projects are likely to appeal to her. The book is also good for adults with some good easy to sew projects.

We bought this book for our granddaughter’s 7th birthday. We also bought her a ‘real’ sewing machine. This book will take her through firstly simple tasks, through to making small toys and simple clothes. As the sewing machine was her idea, with the help of this book she should get many years enjoyable use from her new machine.

I bought this for granddaughter who is keen to get sewing. She has picked two projects that we can do together. The first one (water bottle holder) said you could skip step 6 and go to step 10. There is no step 10.The next one is the bed tidy. Managed up to step 4. Now we are both baffled. We shall persevere but I feel like I have to do these myself before we do them together.

Cute, simple projects that use all the basics of sewing. Looking forward to gifting it to a young person that wants to know how to use their mom's sewing machine.

Great place for my granddaughter to begin sewing.

I wanted a sewing book to use with my 12-year-old granddaughter. I couldn't be more pleased with this book! It has various sewing levels: easy peasy; you're on your way; you've got this; and you're a star. The projects are very creative; the instructions are clear; and the illustrations are colorful. There are some pattern templates that are full-size, and others that you would have to photocopy at 200%. But for most of the projects, patterns are not even needed. I'll admit that neither my granddaughter nor I have had the time to actually get together to sew, but I know she would like this book. I may just give it to my daughter and have her use it. The book is very well done.

I can’t wait to sit down with my granddaughter and try some of the little projects haven’t started anything in this book yet but I like what I see
