Occasionally I get a face and chest rash from stress. The prescription cream I typically use was out of code - by almost 6 months. I had a jar of Dr. Wang Herbal Rescue Balm as a back-up. When I broke out in the rash again, I thought I would make an appointment with my dermatologist. Then I remembered I had this balm. I figured I would try it out for a couple of days and if the rash was not getting better, I would discontinue usage and call my doctor. The first thing to know is that it is pretty thick, almost a paste consistency and a bit difficult to spread and rub in. You do a lot of rubbing! The purple color almost goes away but I still see a tinge of purple where I use it. I do apply makeup over the balm for when I go to work. I don't feel that using makeup during the day diminishes the effectiveness of the balm. I also use the balm at night. I don't have any issues with any purple coming off on sheets or my clothes but I do spend several minutes rubbing it in thoroughly. The itching from my rash is intense and if I scratch it, the rash blows up. I can't say this balm stops the itching altogether - it does not. However, for me it helps tremendously in controlling the itching and eliminating the rash. My skin is clear now but I still used the balm for several days after the rash disappeared. My rash will be back but I feel I can control it with this balm. If the balm is not effective anymore, there is always my doctor. At least this time it saved me a trip to the dermatologist. I am not a doctor, nurse, or anyone else in the medical profession. What worked for me may not work for you. I am just saying what my experience is with this balm.

I first bought Dr. Wang's product from Qvc & it had a different name, so I was concerned if it was the same creme. It turned out to be the exact creme, & also smells the same. They just changed the name & I was glad to see the price is the same. I used this product for my feet. Sometimes when the weather gets colder, my feet star itching from dryness. It works very good & for me it takes minute to take its full effect.This product does work.If it does not work for you I recomend a steroid creme prescribed by a doctor.

This product is excellent. My husband has had a itchy rash for 2 months. He used a prescribed steroid cream for longer than he was supposed to (he didn’t know). When he stopped per Doctor’s order, his rash became much worse, because of what’s called the “rebound effect”. He tried benadryl and other anti-itch creams, with temporary, short-lived relief of itch. In desperation, I googled “rebound effect” treatment, and found Dr. Wang’s Rescue Balm. I hoped Amazon carried it, and then ordered it immediately. I rubbed it into my husband’s back and arms on worst areas. He had immediate relief that lasted all night. So grateful and highly recommend this product.

I was recommended to try this product so I gave it a shot. It arrived Thursday July 20th. I applied it the next day Friday. A few days later, my skin became INFLAMED. I mean when I would sweat, the itching feeling felt like needles. It was PAINFUL to sleep. I scratched for HOURS at night losing so much sleep. My skin became wrinkly and loose on my stomach, my skin became hard in certain areas of my arms, clearly I suffered from blotches, redness and flaking of the skin like I was shedding. My neck became extremely dry and it hurt to even turn my neck. I had to buy a mini vacuum to get the dead skin off my comforters every morning (just washed them too btw). The purple dye will stain your clothes and bed even when it is fully rubbed into skin.I’m not bashing the brand since everyone is different but it did not work for me. I went to my dermatologist and he prescribed me Fluocinonide (I’ve used it before from another dermatologist and it worked). It’s an atopic cream and it helped me a lot. I HAD to buy raw shea butter, vitamin E oil, and aloe Vera to help with my skin and it’s starting to clear up.Hopefully this helps anyone wondering about this product.

My 7 yr old suffers from eczema and has since she was 1 and this product thus far has been the best we have used. Over the years of trying so many creams,ointments and lotions and spending a ridiculous amount of money I can say she is feeling relief. We haven't had it for very long but I can already see as she calls it her "alligator" skin is already showing signs of looking and feeling much better. She has a spot on the arm that is the worst for her, she's constantly scratching leaving a tender raised spot after the initial time we used the ointment she had the biggest smile on her face and said what a relief. At that point I knew we were on the right track. I have had good feelings about other treatments in the past and turned out after some use they no longer helped but we are holding out hope this is the answer. It doesn't hurt that the ointment is purple and it has does have a herbal smell but its not in your face strong. I know the price and size might seem like a lot but for me if it helps my daughter get the relief she needs no price is too big! I would recommend this product to anyone suffering from eczema!!

I bought this to try on my eczema (hands and arms), hoping it would calm the itch and repair the skin. While it didn't really help with the itch, it made my problem areas feel hydrated. It goes on smooth and creamy, and my skin feels softer. Truthfully, no product can 'cure' eczema anyway, and although I've tried many products to aid in taming the itchiness, I have yet to run across one that effectively can (that doesn't contain steroids). It has a slight menthol-like scent, but I was okay with that, and it dissipates when you rub the product in. I don't know if the purple color stains, but I rub the cream in until the purple no longer shows. All-in-all, a pretty good hydrating cream.
