Tambour Beading For Beginners: Classic Art of India Embroidery Paperback – June 3, 2021

The book is very basic , but does the job : you find enough information to put you on your way if you are , like me , a beginner in de art of punching and tambour beading . The author gives fair warning that the technique is not easy at first and takes some time to get the hang of . I am actually not so interested in the beading , only in the fast chain stitch , for a personal project of mine .The explanation is clear , the pictures are good and detailed and I am very pleased with it .

First of all, there is absolutely no information in this book regarding instructions for using beads with the tambour embroidery. It’s in the title of the book but there is no mention of beading inside other than in the history section of the book which takes up about a third of the entire book. Considering there are only 66 pages, that’s over twenty pages where there is no instruction at all. The only color pictures are on the cover. The pictures inside are terrible quality. My iPhone actually made them look better when I took pictures for this review. They are not even black and white. They are printed in grayscale with very little contrast and they are also blurry. It’s nearly impossible in some of the pictures to figure out what’s going on, even with written instruction. There is no author listed at all which is weird. I’m very disappointed in how badly this book is put together. Very amateur. Complete waste of money.

instructions are great . have to finish other projects

The media could not be loaded.  Very beginer info, good if youve never framed a hoop or weilded a hook. The info, text and photo, is all the exact same as a blog on google for free. Paper is cheap, book is small, its all black and white. The wording is easy to read but without already knowing how to make the stitches youd have a hard time figuring out what to do from the limited top down photos.

Good material for my projects

I usually don't leave negative reviews, but this book was not at all what I was hoping for. Very skimpy, no colored pictures, and has absolutely nothing to do with beads or beading, just the regular old tambour embroidery.

Great book for beginners

This book will get you started but I was really hoping for more then just the basics. I will have to continue looking.

Un libro pequeño, con imágenes mal maquetadas y deformadas en blanco y negro...sólo cuenta con un par de encuentros...Nada que ver con lo que se ve en la portada. No hay mucho que aprender de él. Creí que iba a ser algo mejor.

Great good instructions another craft to learn

Dieses Buch ist gut für alle, die wirklich noch nie eine Technik dieser Art gelernt haben. Es ist ein gut überschaubarer Grundkurs für Anfänger und nimmt die Angst vor dem Beginnen. Aber es gibt keine weiterführenden Arbeiten

This is a small book, a tutorial the author calls it, and despite the title does not show you how to do tambour beading! The layout is very awkward on kindle- two elongated columns per page that are very difficult to read without enlarging them individually. There are plenty of pictures and the instructions are clear BUT it does NOT show you how to attach beads using the tambour method! I’ll keep the book for reference purposes but there are tutorials just as good (that do show you how to bead with a tambour) on YouTube, save your money unless tambour lace is all you want.
