Traps Male spotted and striped cucumber beetles! Great for cucumber, cantaloupe, winter and summer squash, pumpkin, gourd, watermelon and many other species of cucurbits. Cucumber Beetles are a major problem wherever cucumber, watermelon, pumpkin, cantaloupe, squash and other cucurbits are grown. Beetles can kill or severely stunt seedlings and on older plants damage stems and fruits. The beetle is well known for transmitting bacterial wilt, and some viruses. Gummy stem blight is also associated with beetle damage. Larvae feed on roots, reducing yield. The trap contains a strong adhesive to hold male beetles that are attracted to the multi-pheromone lure. Place in garden when seedlings start to emerge or beetles appear and start feeding on flowers and foliage. The lure will attract various types of cucumber beetles: Striped cucumber (Acalymma vittatum) Western striped (Acalymma trivittatum) Spotted cucumber (Diabrotica undecimpunctata howardi) Western spotted cucumber beetle (Diabrotica undecimpunctata undecimpunctata) Instructions: Place lure on or very near to yellow sticky trap. Replace when filled with beetles or dirty. The lure lasts for 3-4 weeks depending on temperature.

Some reviews were good, some said they didn't do anything
So, I was so-so about ordering these traps (there's two in the package). Some reviews were good, some said they didn't do anything, and some said they trap bees and whatnot too. Well, my experience has been that these things attract cucumber beetles and ONLY cucumber beetles, and they do a great job of it! I put one of these out after noticing my garden was polluted with the little black and yellow striped cucumber beetles, and within 24 hours there were so many beetles (and like, 3 flies) on the sticky yellow part that it was unbelievable. There must have been 40 or more. There were NO bees on my traps, and I have little honeybees actively pollinating my zucchini plants less than four feet from there I've popped the trap up. These traps are definitely worth trying if you've got a cucumber beetle problem!

Butterfly & Beneficial Bug Traps, a few cucumber beetles too.
I have a 10k sqft organic garden that gets cucumber beetles every year. In an attempt to control cucumber beetles I bought 4 packs (8 traps totalling nearly $90) of these "Cucumber Beetle Traps with Lures". I hung only 2 traps at first to get a feel for how effective they were. I must preface this review by letting you know I release Green Lacewing eggs in my garden yearly to control pests like aphids, thrips, mites etc. They are the best beneficial predator bug you can have. The 2 traps have hung for 1 week so far and I'm going to throw them away because...After hanging for 24 hours 2 traps caught neary 100 small black beetles (not a problem pest or target pest). After 48 hours I found 4 Cucumber Beetles as well as many more non-targeted beetles, nearly a dozen Bee-like bugs (not honey bees), 2 Ladybugs, 3 Green Lacewing Adults and 1 Butterfly. Unfortunately they hung for another couple days and caught a 2nd butterfly which is completely unacceptable.I'm extremely disappointed and am now returning the 3 unopened packs for a refund. In my experience, you will trap more beneficial bugs than bad by far!

Works well, though over-priced
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. These work. I’d give them 5 stars if the pricing where in line with the product value. They should be about $2.50 per each one, not $10+ each. Make sure to plan where you’ll hang the trap before assembling because it’s extremely sticky and you can’t set it down. I used a ground pole that is for hanging baskets and plopped it between my raised beds that have cantaloupe, cucumber, and squash. It’s also near my longer flat bed that has watermelon and pumpkin. The first evening I had 4 cucumber beetles. The next day (today) there’s more on there. I’m using this trap in combination with spraying neem oil. I use drip hoses now so it cuts down on the neem oil getting washed off from watering.

These are fantastic! I was reluctant to buy them due to the mixed reviews, but I am glad I did. I have 15 cucumber plants and I noticed a few cucumber beetles recently, as well as leaf damage. I thought I only had a few, but after just one hour the trap has caught two dozens! A few days later, the trap has about 50 cucumber beetles on it and NO OTHER INSECTS. That's right, no bees or ladybugs even though there are plenty of those in my garden. Excellent product.

Super Effective!
I was desperate to get a few cucumbers from my fall garden. However, the cucumber beetles were decimating it. We tried all sorts of sprays and dusts, but the damage continued. Then I found this product in an online garden forum. I admit I was skeptical. The traps are not hard to place and it’s easy enough to avoid the sticky stuff. Fortunately cucumber beetles are crazy about the scent. I had so many on the first trap that I put up the second one today. Within half an hour it had 20 cucumber beetles on it.There are zero honeybees or any beneficial insects on the sticky stuff. Just a few flies, some gnats, and probably 60+ cucumber beetles.I just ordered another set in case these fill up or to have for the spring.I live in Central Texas in Zone 8.

Expensive, but works here in Virginia
These traps have worked for me here in Virginia. We have striped cucumber beetles and I have used them over my cukes and melons. Put these traps out right when you see those beetles on your cucurbit flowers. These traps DO NOT catch honeybees. I have a honeybee hive 20 feet away and haven't caught any of my bees. Only caught cucumber beetles, green flies, leaf hoppers, mosquitoes, and leaf miners so far.4 Stars - because the price is ridiculously expensive for a piece of plastic, glue and lure. Shop around and you can find these AGBIO Brand traps for about half the price on other gardening websites/catalogs.

Works well, but rain can be an issue
We have a horrible time with melon flies in Hawaii. Items like cucumbers and cantaloupe grow like gangbusters, then the word goes out to the melon flies. Within 24 hours your crop is ruined. This unit works well, and you tell because the flies are visible stuck to the trap. The attractant is a plus, making it more selective in the flies it catches. I do back this up with another type of pheromone trap. The combo seems to do the trick. I am still getting losses, but instead of 100% loss, we're down to something like 20%. The only issue is when it gets rainy with some breeze or wind, it can really mess this trap up. Two or three times and it needs to be replaced.
