The very best value IEMs on the market today
I use these for audiophile listening (high, constant bitrate audio files) and live gigging IEMs in a professional band.I've waited a long time to write this review. I wanted to make sure burn-in had fully occurred so that I could compare them with my other IEMs. I have to say that I'm amazed by these units in this price bracket. When I first listened to them (pre burn-in) I thought there was too much bass response and not enough sonic balance. This is normal, apparently(?), and takes time to settle. Once they were properly burnt-in (around a fortnight of use) they balanced out incredibly. It was a night and day difference from brand new to standard use. I'm glad I waited 3 months to write this...I compared these to several IEMs. I also own a set of the Yinyoo KZ ZSX (1DD & 5BA drivers per unit) to compare them to, as well. The Yinyoo KZ ZSX are good IEMs with great reviews for a reason; there are very good. However, these KZ Zax units are even better! I also compared them to M6-Pro IEMs and other brands that I have. Across the board, these are the best IEM's I've ever used. The cable noise on the KZ ZSX was quite high. On the KZ Zax it's much better, with a much less noticeable cable noise. On the KZ ZSX units, one of the connectors on the driver unit had broken. I fixed it with superglue. This worked, but it meant I cannot remove the cable. So, I decided to get a new pair as I sometimes cable swap. I was going to order another set of KZ ZSX, but I saw these and took a chance on jumping up to 1DD and 7BA per unit. I'm glad I did.The presentation of KZ Zax soundscape is very even, exceptionally detailed and rich, without being overpowering in any frequency. In the beginning, prior to burn-in, the EQ on the bass was unacceptably high. You could hear the bass-guitar or deep cellos/double bass strings overpowering the rest of the music, as if the music had been mixed or mastered with too much bass. After burn-in the sound evens out over time. When these have reached equilibrium, the low middle, mid-middle, presence and treble matches the bass very well, to give unprecedented detail and richness to this listener's ears. The KZ Zax comfort is excellent, even better than the KZ ZSX units. While listening to music with the KZ Zax to music that I know very well, I have heard things I simply could not hear with the old KZ ZAX units.Yes, these KZ Zax units are £20 more than the very good KZ ZSX units. But, for those extra 4 Balanced Armatures, the more advanced audio tuning of the unit, and the clearly superior cable, it's well worth the investment.CABLE UPGRADE UPDATE: KZ Silver/Blue Hybrid (784 cores) Upgrade Cable. This is the best upgrade cable purchase I've ever made. I have upgraded the stock cable of my KZ Zax IEM and I cannot tell you what an improvement has been made! There's no cable noise at all and the sound is even better. The sound if full, deep, rich and more detailed, with a wonderful midrange and presence balance. I cannot recommend the purchase enough! However, there's a downside! There's so much copper in these cables that the volume you're used to will sound dropped as it's pushing against so much more copper. You have to up the volume output a lot from your device. This may impact battery time (device dependant) as you're pushing more energy through all that copper braid to have the same volume output.

Stunning headphones
I’m a working musician sound and mix engineer.. I’ve used headphones of all makes over the years . I have sure 535 and 425 and love them .. I purchased a set of these on recommendation from a friend and thought for 66 quid I’ll give them a go ..First set had a slight distortion in left ear so returned them and bought some more .I have to say I’m blown away with the sound of these .. the headphones out perform the sures I have in as far as being level EQ wise and the stereo image and detail are amazing.I’ve been using these live as in ear monitors and they work really well. The detail you can hear on normal recordings would make them ideal for scrutinising a mix and on stage they sound really open in the stereo field and very easy on the ears .The earphones go down quite low frequency wise and are slightly spongy but very easily tuned with Eq ..at the end of the day earphones are subjective in their nature but for 66 quid they are well worth a gamble … also changed the ear buds for decent American made memory foam ones and the isolation for stage use works great but for just listening through the buds that come with them are fine 🤩

Warm noise. Great bass.Mid and high levels easily adjusted through any playing device with a decent EQ.

4,5 out of 5
Sound quality: There is definately well defined instruments and instrument seperation.Instruments like guitars can be heard to the last string. The sound seperation is such that your ears can tell as if there is distance between instuments and vocals.Further more , on some songs you can feel as if some instruments playing above your head as if you wearing large head phones.Comfort:They are fairly comfortable infact can can say Id rather put these on than my Bose QC earbuds.Value for money: Great value for money the sound quality is well worth it.The Bad: Well if I had no comparison these would be perfect except for the very tangly cable.Compared to my Bose qc earbuds , the KZ Zax have more instrument definition there are indeed some tingles I had not noticed with my Bose. But, the Bose have a smooth clarity almost like the KZ are raw and the Bose are more ripe ie mixing instruments feels much more mastered on Bose earbuds such that they make tracks much better to listen to as a whole. The bass is far much better on Bose although I concede that I have an eq setting on bose app with maximum bass bias on the bose where as I can't obviosly change this naturally on the EZ.The Bose also dont have the large 3D sound effect that the KZ have although overally the bose are better for music . When is comes to games, connected to my xbox controller, that 3D effect shines, giving you a breath takingly emerssive almost realistic effect when playing games such as Man Eater where deep ocean sounds feel quite surreal. This is normal consumer perspective as you ca clearly tell, I am not a so called audiophile:)

Great value and real quality build
I use them for practising guitar along with a wireless setup, brilliant; my neighbours probably love them as much as me.

what a difference a day makes
Out of the box they sound tinny and boring. Left them to play for about 6 hours 80% volume (never listen that loud). And then :) Never heard such a burn in effect. CCA KZ Zax don't lie: when the source is bad, it sounds bad! When good, it sounds fantastic! I have a lot of earphones and some expensive custom ones. CCA KZ Zax easily win or rival them. For this price they can't be beat.

Another great CCA IEM
Looking for an upgrade from my older CCA, was looking for different and "better" brands. In the end, the best brand was again CCA. Extremely clear, great definition on all range of frequencies, very comfortable to use. And a better look than previous versions. The black shield looks more premium than the older metallic look. Not the top brand, but better than the top brand.

Kz Zax. Dinamica sonora convincente.
