Taste #5 Umami Paste Nobu Far East Recipe Vegetarian

This is a fantastic sauce! I've had it for about a week, and cooking for two, it's almost gone. So far I've used it in gravy, lentil & mushroom burgers, a Vietnamese dish, homemade ramen, and a few other dishes I can't recall at the moment. I really wanted to try this, as it is made with Hikari miso, which I love and always have on hand.My only complaint is the price. At $12 per tube, it really not worth it. At $4 per tube, it would be a pantry staple. For now I'll be sticking with my long-time favorites: mushroom seasoning (especially po lo ku) from Singapore & Vietnam, Thai sauces like Golden Mountain, and other sauces like Maggi Scharf & Wuerze. Much better bang for the buck.
