Got both books, this shortened illustrated version, which is more suitable for school kids, and the original paperback for myself. Illustrations are fantastic.

Not very interesting

This is one of the most interesting history books I have read.What the author has done really well in this book is that he has really simplified the complex and sensitive topics. Even a person who is not exactly following all the news can get a grasp of the current situation in the Middle Eastern countries.It's a big 620 page book. It's really well researched and written. It never feels like a drag.If you are looking for a book to know about the history and connect it with present then you should definitely read this book.
