Artist Essential 12-inch Plastic Art Supply Craft Storage Tool Box, Semi-clear Plastic with Two Trays

The seller should change the photo for this item. It's misleading, and that blue color is the reason I purchased this item. I don't like bait and switch. I received this storage tool box yesterday. It's sturdy, with enough room inside for my sculpting tools. Aside from the color this box is exactly as pictured. I'll keep it. I might even order another one, because being able to see what's inside is a big plus for me, but I still think the seller should change the picture from blue to clear.UPDATE: I purchased this item in 2014. I'm going to increase the rating to 5 stars. I don't understand the reviews that claim the item is flimsy. I've never had any problems with mine. It's roomy enough for all my sculpting tools. I still wish it were that transparent blue though....

I bought this for transporting craft supplies to a seniors' group that I help out once a week. The first time I tried it, I quickly realized that this box wasn't going to close to big enough for the markers, glue sticks and scissors I needed, so I ended up ordering a 2nd one. Big mistake - I should have returned the first one for another brand. Even though I didn't overload the box at all, stuff fell out as soon as I opened the box. And since there is a space under the top shelf, glue sticks and markers tend to get stuck there, making the box hard to shut. I'm pretty familiar with the way tackle boxes work so I thought this one would be just as handy as the ones my Dad used for fishing, but this is woefully inadequate. I really can't figure out what to use this thing for. I guess it could become a project box in my studio (holding the brushes and paints I need for a project) BUT it's not big enough for that and why buy something with a handle if you not going to travel with it? Oh, and now I have two of them!

I just receive it, so thats why I wont give it the 5 starts just to see how it will work...so far, the delivery wasnt the day I expected but maybe that was an issue of my "amazon prime membership" however, was later than expected ( just 3 or 4 days later), I need it to place some of my painting stuff, to keep it organized n also take it to my classes, so I need something not that bulky and this one has a great "not big size", enough, but still practical n easy to carry n handle. Conclusion,so far it looks good for my needs: 1-organization n 2-somehow small cuz I need to carry it to my school. If I find out something importantly different, I will edit my review.

Really good product! I use it to house all my hair bow making supplies, and it holds everything! Because of the design, everything I use is in view, and easy to get to. The box allows me to keep everything from scissors, threads, needles, lighters, salon clips, alligator clips, tape measure, wood burning tool, glue gun and sticks, filet tape, pencils and pens, wire snips, etc., etc., etc. in one place and everything in its own place. Really nice that the top folds down flat behind the box when opened. This means it does not tip over backward and spill everything out. I had been looking for such a box for ages, and am so glad to have found it. I frequently take "bow stuff" with me when I travel and this box means everything I need is ready to go. It is so convenient, I keep everything in it at all times, rather than in drawers and boxes on my craft table. Couldn't be more pleased. As others have said, the box is a colorless, translucent plastic, not blue. In case you couldn't tell, I LOVE IT!

First one I received had a corner that was completely shattered, but that could have been from the shipping, second one was great, although the one I recieved was white plastic instead of blue, and the logo rubbed off after a few days, but aside from that it was exactly what I needed.

This arrived broken, so it's hard to open and close. It's too much trouble to exchange it and not worth the time and added cost. I'll just remove the trays and broken arms and use the main box. But this design is internally MUCH more flimsy than other brands I have bought. I won't be buying this brand again!

I was searching for an art box for my husband's god daughter that was similar to my Iris brand art box. Apparently, Iris no longer makes them. In my search, I found this one which is close in the design. It is about the same size and has the attached divided trays which will work and the entire box is transparent . However, this box is much lighter in construction. The latch is not as tight. It will be fine for at home art. I would hesitate taking into the field as I am not confident that, once it is filled with supplies, the latch will hold.

I purchased this craft box to store my hair feathers and feather supplies and this box is perfect! I take my hair supplies all over and box keeps everything in order and it's easier for my customers to look at the trays to pick out their feathers than it is for me to get them all out. If I pop the lid off by mistake it goes right back on and the tabs that hold it together haven't cracked or broken. It seems very durable. I am very happy with this box!
