Fast free delivery and solid set. Fun to watch especially if you lived an otaku life.
I watched this series on Crackle.com and really fell in love with the show. Overall, it's really innocent episodes that made me feel I wish I had a little sister (instead of a bratty little brother I had to deal with). But then again, if she had that kind of hobby, I would be a little worried myself. Of course, the situations that it presented is more Japanese than Western. So for us American viewers, it's not the most "realistic" fiction we can relate to. I think it's the kind of fantasy story that inspires American Otaku to wanting to live in Japan. They do introduce Japanese society's negative perception of such hobby (like refering to newspaper articles in one episode), but it's been downplayed so that it doesn't spoil the series.I enjoyed each episode, including the "true route" which gives an alternative ending and beyond. It's really fun and interesting to watch the different branch (like a hard decision in an eroge game that branches to another destiny). I also admit that this has been a pop-culturally educational show (now I know what "eroge" is). I haven't been associated with a dedicated animie series for nearly a decade, but viewing this series just made me super-charged to realize that the such "hobby" has become a culture significance. The characters are wonderful and I had this omnious feeling that I've met most of them along the way (those that attend any comic/anime cons know what I'm talking about. And why is it there's always one Goth/vampire/underworld character at every anime meeting?).This series has big heart. It's not a giant robo or nude ladies running around nuking bad guys to save the world. It's about what a big brother does for his little sister. It's about an innocent, super die-hard fan that collects for the "cuteness and innocence" for the sake of art. It's about kids wanting to enjoy their favorite "past times". They are aware of the society taboos and pitfalls, but they do enjoy their hunt with fun. It's all about the passion for what you want to do and friends that you share with. As in real life, we take these points for granted. I truely missed those days...The show is not intended for kids, simply because it's made for MATURE INDIVIDUALS. I used to like films that were chocked full of sad, terrible endings (yes, I am an artsy-fartsy kind of guy), but I switched gears to a happier tone. This is a heart-warmer series, not a heart breaker. You can't help but smile and slap your head a few times.I recommend this product (and the service, too. I got mine in three days). It does not have behind the scenes or any useful supplemental information about the series (extras are only textless beginning and ending credit scenes). It's not too bad for the price I paid since I really couldn't find it anywhere else (or just plain lazy to look for it elsewhere). I do hope they restock this product. And I strongly recommend this series, especially to those that remembered the hunting streak for "particular hobbies". I'm planning to gather my otaku group one weekend to have this viewing over at a maid cafe!Later!

Hard to find, but a good companion to the manga
I'm guessing the sensitivity of the subject matter makes this anime hard to find in the US. I have watched the first four episodes so far and have enjoyed the story. There is no English dub, but the subtitles are within my reading speed and the emotion comes through from the Japanese voice actors. Definitely worth a look if you enjoyed the manga.

Very unique and entertaining. I love it!
Kyousuke always lived in the shadow of his little sister. She's a straight A student, she's athletic, and to top it all off she's a fashion model. One day he bumps into her and finds an explicit anime DVD that fell out of her bag. When he gives it back she shows him a secret stash containing hundreds of eroge and hentai games and animes. She's in way deep. She tries to connect with her estranged brother, using her hobby. He encourages her to try to make friends with the same hobby and stop living in the closet. Her double lifestyle is made apparent to her parents and her old friends, but her brother goes to bat for her and helps her get through it.I really love Oreimo it's beautifully animated and it has a very funny and interesting story. The characters make this anime what it is. You really can get into the characters and feel for them. It's kind of a strange story, but it's a lot of fun and filled with emotion. Especially toward the end. There is going to be a 2nd season released in April 2013 I believe. I'm excited. This anime was a breath of fresh air for me. My only complaint is that there is no english dub yet. It doesn't need one b/c the original is great, but it might make watching it a little more relaxing w/o having to read subtitles. Any anime fan will love this series.

This OREIMO DVD can show you fine love, freindship, fraternity, parent-child relationaship, and also you can enjoy funny speedy conversation. Kyosuke and his younger sister Kirino were on bad terms in the beginning, but they come to know that they love each other as fraternity. At every opportunity, Kyosuke helps Kirino and Kirino begins to love him. This series have next one and in it, Kuroneko and Ayase become to love Kyosuke. Kyosuke and Kuroneko begins to go out with for short time. The most impressive scene is Kuroneko confess her love to Kyosuke. But next series is not contained in this DVDs.Foreign people can know Japanese "OTAKU culture". For Japanese people, this is very good teaching materials for daily life conversation by subtitles. All opnening and ending songs have Japanese subtitles on upper and English subtitles down, so foreign people can learn Japanese by comparing them. Ending songs are all different. I would surely recommend this DVD.The story's place is Chiba city, Chiba prefecture, Japan. You can visit the places discribed scenes in Chiba city. Untill 03/31/14, OREIMO-decorated monorail is running. Why don't you visit Chiba city and Chiba park by monorail? Chiba monorail starts from JR Chiba station and next stop is Chiba park. In holidays, you can hear the monorail's announce by the OREIMO cast. This train is running once a day.
