Worth It
I read the novel first online so I was miserable when I went back to read it again and found that it had been taken down. The translators had placed a notice that the novel would soon be available as a book and of course, I had to have it.I'm really glad that they credited the translators too!The illustrations are great and the books include a glossary of names and words, as well as pronunciation guides which are fascinating, but mostly, it's a gorgeous story that I'm ecstatic to be able to add to my bookshelf. The anime and the live action beautiful in their own ways but you can't beat a good old fashioned gay novel in hard-copy without the censorship.

Brilliant copy and an unforgettable story
There are incredible stories, and there is MDZS.Having dived into the adaptation blind back in 2019, I didn't understand the hype that is the Untamed/MDZS. There was a time where I couldn't scroll through my twitter feed without seeing a mention of this work. However, I stopped at ep3 and forgot all about it until coming across it again in Jan 2021. Still not understanding the plot as well as struggling to keep track of all the characters, I decided to do a little digging and discovered this drama is based off a novel. I'm always for books before shows, and immediately decided to read the novel translation (by fans) not knowing in the slightest what I was getting into. Looking back now, I never imagined how much I was going to love it, so much that I'm still in a reading (and drama) slump to this very day.You have been warned (in the best way). This story will leave your heart just a few sizes larger, and perhaps you won't even look at the world the same way again.Having experienced a lot of stories for years, I think it's an understatement to say this is a work is definitely one of the very best, but like others it isn't perfect. It's hard to believe MXTX expected her work to flop, but having read it you will come to understand she excels not only the deliverance of emotional impact upon the reader, but the ability to craft an amazing and complex plot. The elements which are extremely difficult to do as a writer, and even harder to execute. Never have I been so invested in a story, to have taken more than a few months to read and appreciating certain scenes between the characters. I can't say more without spoiling, but there's so much unsaid that you find yourself stunned by the meaning of it all.If you're bothered about the price, which is definitely higher than the average paperback - don't be. It's worth it and I'm finally glad that I can get a copy after reading a fan's translation for free.

Can't wait for the next book!
Takes some time to get used to the Chinese names and honourifics and the flashbacks in time, but stick with it and the story is well worth the effort. The handy glossary of names and terms at the back is great but be warned does contain some spoilers. This is shaping up to be an epic read and I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Wonderful translation
I’ve read another translation and seen the drama, this translation makes some of the other phrasing make more sense. It has made me if anything, enjoy the drama even more.

I love this!
As a huge fan of The Untamed and MDZS I was so excited to read this, and I was not disappointed! The book is brilliant, with colourful pictures and a glossary at the back for anyone who doesn’t know who the characters are or the definitions of any of the Chinese phrases. I can’t wait for the next book to come out in English! Would definitely recommend for any fellow MDZS/Untamed fans :)

Essential reading
Love the characters and the story. Enough frustration and loss to keep you rooting for the heros. I loved it.
