A Meaningful Journal
As I begin reading Mia Roldan's Navigating Grief: A Guide Journal, I am overwhelmed by her clear, concise and caring insights. Her focus is always on gently inviting the reader to face, accept and work through feelings of deep loss, intense sadness and uncertainty about how to feel better. Her reflections and ideas offer specific activities to process grief in a meaningful ways. Her own experiences confronting grief and finding joy again inform her sense of "being there" for the reader. My hope is that many in the grip of grief will use this journal as a source of comfort and self-healing. I am grateful and honored to be a part of Mia's continuing journey. In the late 1990's Mia was the special education liaison for an autistic student in my grade 3 classroom. She had the ability to meet his unique needs while also assisting his teachers, classmates and parents. I am thrilled at her success in publishing this amazing book based on her background, professional training and counseling career. I plan to share it with others needing her guidance.

An Excellent, Empathetic Resource
Mia Roldan has written an excellent guide for children and adults to navigate the stages of grief. The text is clear, concise and informed: indeed, she herself survived the tragic suicide of her mother as a child.Mrs. Roldan is an experienced teacher, counselor, social worker and Autism specialist. I can’t imagine a more educated writer to address the topic of grief. This book should be a required addition to the libraries of teachers and administrators alike.Charlotte Hage Dalbey, M.Ed.

Great to gift!
I purchased this as a gift for someone who is grieving from loss. The prompts are really great and focused positively on grief and what we can control. Really great!

Helpful
The journal is helpful, but I had purchased this before purchasing the workbook. The journal is significantly less helpful without the supplemental reading material.

More like a journal and meditation guide.
I was looking for more of wide to help others, but this is a self help book. I'm not saying that is not a bad book for those who are wanting to write their feelings down, but it is not what I need. Returning for a refund.

Helps face the difficulties in loss
Lost my mom in May, very suddenly and with no warning. Finding her already gone is the most horrific memory I carry, and am struggling so hard to move forward. This is helping me some so far. Highly recommend.
