Black Arts Toneworks Crown of Horns Fuzz Most families have one. One who is different, all the while resembling the others. The Crown of Horns is that one in the Black Arts Toneworks family. While the Pharaoh is the utilitarian BMP, the LSTR is the wild and outrageous brother, the Crown is the youngster with different DNA, possibly the mailmans. Living in the BAT family, The Crown of Horns shares traits of the Pharaoh and LSTR. The heart of the Crown is that of the OpAmp muff with the addition of a hybrid Pharaoh/LSTR tone section. Not quite as middy as the Pharaoh, not quite as scooped as the LSTR. The Crown sits squarely in the middle of the two. What makes the Crown very different is the Horns. The Horns switch will bypass the tone stack altogether for a huge, flat boost of volume. The result of this is highly interactive with your amp. Different amps and settings within the amps will give results ranging from a huge volume boost to a slab of fat saturation. Your creativity will find ways to utilize the Horns. As is standard in the Black Arts family, the Crown of Horns portrait includes a big bottom, loud mouth, aggressive personality and a bit of unruly FU. Great tone...needs a touch more lows.
All in all, like the pedal. Got a cool sound and look to it and a “darker” fuzz tone. Easy to get different sounds and dial in and the “horns” feature changes the tone completely. The only downside for me was that I was hoping it would be a little more low end heavy, since that was the reason I bought it. But on my board it’s running through a TS808 and an EQ boost so it has found a home. I would recommend if you like that “doom” fuzz sound....I do.

Perfect for fuzzy Stoner/doom tones
Perfect for fuzzy Stoner/doom tones. The volume boost switch is a nice touch. I find myself using it a lot more than I expected. The price is a bit high, but it's high quality so whatever.

Black arts toneworks really understand how fuzz should be done!
This thing with a phaser in front of it is just gross in a good way!

Fuzz Overload
This can do anything from a vintage Black Sabbath style fuzz to a total wall of sound.

worked great on SS amps like my bandit red/teal stripes
This pedal takes a clean channel and makes it DR.Doom time!! worked great on SS amps like my bandit red/teal stripes, and the clean channel of Blackstar HT100 tube amp and was also impressive..the horns button seemed like a nice stack, but was pretty loud in comparison..and sounded like a great way to cut through the mix, along with blowing some heads off!! made quality!
