It is better than nothing when looking to pull a harvest or not. I would say $10 is a fair price.
I received this loupe today and was pretty stoked to check it out. Understanding how to use it is important, you have to hold it super close to your eye. The "60x" is pretty small but for ten bucks, it is a good deal. Honestly, I think I will purchase a digital one that hooks up to a phone but this one will do for now. I don't regret the purchase. It comes with a nice case and a spare battery for the LED light. The overall build is sturdy. I would say it probably could be sold for more than $10, $15 would be pushing it, no way would I pay $20.

Good Quality for the Price
Overall this is a good magnifier for the price you pay. It feels sturdy enough that I don't worry about it breaking and the magnification is enough for my usage.

Bigger Than I Thought.......
Having misplaced the old magnifier I had, I had to get a new one. Some print is just to fine to read easily without blowing it up a bit. When I got this in, I was a bit surprised how big it was. I knew it would be bigger than my old glass, but I didn't realize how much bigger. I noted it came in nice soft black pouch and a cleaning cloth. Nice ideas for storage and keeping the glass clean. It also has a light on the handle that provides enough light to read by if needed. I note it's x2 with a x5 small area right above where the handle meets the head of the glass. The light runs on 4 AAA batteries. (Not provided, of course....usual practice these days.) This brings me to the only drawback I observed. The batteries fit into the handle and are held in place by a snap on plastic cover. It closes pretty good but does not seem to have a large edge on the cover that holds the cover in place. I've had many covers like this that the edge that hold the cover closed wears down and you then have to tape the cover to keep it on as it won't stay on anymore due to the snap edge wearing down. We'll see how long this edge lasts. It's a great for viewing small text and other things that are hard to see. I found the x5 spot to be helpful to when I needed to look at a few things with a bit more detail. Overall, a good product!

All lights on the 13 or so I ordered for Christmas gifts worked.
I also purchased Washington Native Plant Society lanyards for hanging the magnifiers around hikers' necks as they go outdoors to examine the amazing tiny features of liverworts, grasses, sedges, etc. Even though the lanyard latch hooks were small, they didn't fit through the non-circular opening on the outside of the magnifier. Other single light magnifiers I have purchased in the past were more accommodating. This problem was less than ideally solved by adding a small circular key ring or a smaller cord that replaced the more handsome and less entangling WNPS lanyard.Gift recipients mentioned in their thank yous how they found other uses for the magnifiers beyond the locating locating the liverworts I sent them artist drawings of from a book a WNPS field trip leader introduced me to.

Great quality and lots of fun.
Updated 02-09Just received my fourth loupe, and am happy to finally have a spare for at home. It is interesting how often this thing comes in handy...must be my age and gradually declining visual acuity. Really like this loupe. These are the nicest, lower priced loupes I have bought. I volunteer at a thrift shop and have "found" many quality pieces of jewelry that, at first glance, seemed to be ordinary costume jewelry. The lights are a helpful addition. It has often worked a charm when I am out shopping for myself. A loupe is, perhaps, not for everyone, but one of my favorite uses is it being just what my grandsons need when taking a closer look when we are playing in the woods, a perfect companion to our magnifying lenses.UPDATED: My original order was for two of these so that I would have one at work and one to carry. I gave one to a co-worker, ordered another and passed it along to a friend, and just ordered a fourth loupe. Yes, we all love them.

I like it. The only part I would change besides small things for aesthetic purposes would be the height of the bezel above the lens. It's just kind of hard to clean. I was using this to view trichomes. Trichomes and pistils both stick to the lens (which is normal) just a little difficult to clean. This is not their fault though everything considered. I looked at every loupe I could find on the internet for several days. While some look better (like the brass ones) if you plan on actually using it, this is going to be the one for you. Even setting aside price this is still the one for you, if you need that much magnification. I would recommend 60x for Trichomes. You can see impurities in diamonds at this magnification which one make this good for those actual jewelry tasks. The LED light on it is much appreciated, you're going to want that LED.

Great product for a doorman checking identification at a bar!!!!
this is a great product.shipping - it arrived on time and in a thick yellow envelope, secured inside with a healthy amount of bubble wrap.First impression - the lights worked and it displayed a clear image of microprint (there are certain lines on identification cards that look like plain ole lines, but under a high magnification they read something about the state of the id card) on identification cards/documents. (im a door guy at a bar. i use it to check ids... most fakes scan, but a lot of them don't have the microprint that a legit id has.Durability - kept on accidentally putting it in my back pocket and sitting on it(in a wooden stool) VERY DURABLE.Using it at work tonight - checking the long line of i.ds was a lot quicker using this loupe instead of the usual low res magnifying glass and separate flashlight.outcome - just from tonight, thanks to this loupe, there are a good few little kids going home sober tonight. and i added to my bars "fake id stack"i WILL buy this again

Works well
This loupe works well. Using it to look at trichomes and it does the job. Haven't had to deal with batteries yet. I have read that batteries are more expensive than the loupe. Will cross that bridge when I get there. I only use the one lens (30X) as it does the trick. If you were hoping to use the smaller lens for 60X magnification, it might be difficult due to the size of lens. For the money, it was definitely worth the purchase.

This is an awesome jewelers loupe!
I love this loupe! Both the 30x and 60x are easy to use compared to a different style loupe I had. This is a great purchase. I showed a couple friends and they will also be purchasing this loupe. Thanks!
