I don’t do much with reviews, but when I bought this item I really was a little nervous because I had no idea what was in the book. This book is awesome! I am a violin teacher and I am going to be using this book with my students that are in elementary school. My students that are younger, I use different coloring sheets and print outs etc. I like that this is not written too complicated yet it covers a lot of ground. There is a lot of emphasis on different major scales, minor skills and harmonic minor skills. Also arpeggios are studied as well rhythms and musical terms. I’m very impressed with this book because it definitely has geared toward a violinist and information is thorough yet concise.I will be using this with my students going forward and then book 2. This is the only book that I found that is geared toward violinist and still fun and informative. I don’t write reviews, but I figured that there would be some other violinist like me out there who would want to know it’s in this book before they buy it. I couldn’t be more happy with my purchase!

This is an excellent resource to guide the beginner into music theory. Very easy to understand.

Easy to read for younger people

I'm 66 and have never touched a musical instrument let along read music, started learning on my own, and have now taking a class to help me come along faster, and I have to say, this book is awesome, easy to follow and learning is fun. I'm now able to read simple notes and have learned a lot of helpful terminology. I highly recommend it to students of any age, as well as instructors.

I am using this as a supplement to Suzuki method. There just wasn’t enough to give some music theory in the Suzuki 1 so this was a wonderful asset!
