Poor instructions.
External sun shade- check.Block sun adequately- check.Covers windshield properly - no.. and it could have easily. As others have said, the poles do not have a top AND bottom pocket for the pole to slide into, so the stretchy bands that attach to the mirror pull the fabric inwards and the sun shield in never “stretched” along the length of the poles.I’ll sew in appropriate pockets and then it will work properly.UPDATE- the poles can fit inside the fabric sleeve. The top is by the velcro and the poll slides inside. The white pole should not be visible. Updated to 4/5 stars- poor instructions

Dont leave home without it
Real quick my Amazon friends...I just purchased my third one of these and have one for each of my cars. I live in a high desert part of the country and summer temps and sun can bake a car like nobody's business and these shades help keep that solar heat gain down to a managable level. Without this the dash and seats absorb so much heat that radiates back out you for quite some time after you get in the car. I'm sure all that UVA or UVB or UVC rays are slowly destroying the interior of a car and this cuts that back dramatically. I especially like how this goes on the outside of the windshield to stop the heat before it gets into the car. Super simple to put on and the bulky tab thingymajigs on the sides tuck into the window to stop this from being "borrowed". I use the smaller size on my prius and forester and the large one fits my Yukon perfect. Easy to roll up and store as well. This design is great and makes a big difference in the summer sun. Oh and btw... you can use it in the winter to keep frost and snow from your windshield.Lee

Fits perfectly on my Camaro
I've been struggling so bad with sunshades for my car. Camaros have small windshields and it's just a pain. Not only that but I have a dashcam that makes it even harder to fit a sunshade. So the other day I was thinking about what to do. It's already been 100 degrees outside this summer and we're only in June!! Anyways I was like I wonder if I could put a sunshade on the outside of the windshield? So I looked up outside car sunshades and landed here. After studying like 10 different ones, I went with this one. And I'm glad I did. It arrived and I had it set up and on my car within 2 minutes. It's really simple. It's a thin windbreaker type material but I'm sure it serves its purpose. Who would want some thick material on top of their window anyway? Especially when it's only there to block the sun. It seems pretty sturdy. Hopefully I'll notice a difference in the temperature next time I get in my car. I'm SO glad these exist!!Update- It's been a couple weeks and the difference inside my car is extremely noticeable. I can get inside my car on a hot day i feel and breathe just fine compared to when I didn't have this. I put it on my car now even when I'm out grocery shopping or at an appointment or whatever.

Good for reflecting direct sun from getting into the vehicle
The shade material is good.....however, the straps are weak and should be replaced with something stronger...velcro straps ?

Don’t be a fool like me
I’ve owned snow covers for my windshield for many years… love them. Unfortunately, I moved and needed to purchase something new to keep heat out of my car for summer since I don’t have a garage. Well let me tell you this flimsy thing is not it! It would been better putting a tarp over my window. No, no, no, this will not work for my 2017 Jeep Patriot. I hate it. Difficult to put on and so extremely thin and flimsy that I can’t believe they get people to buy it and keep it. Order at your own peril. I’m going to keep looking for my old snow guards and just use that if I find it.
