In a quick but deep read, Dorianne highlights problematic patterns of thinking that keep us stuck accepting less than our worth and outlines a detailed strategy for stepping into your power and getting any damn job you want! She takes a no excuse approach but somehow still leaves you feeling motivated and empowered. It’s a must read for all boss women!

Easy Read Full of Career Gems
Finally a career book for women of color! Quick read and straight to the point. This is definitely a career manual I will reference now and in the future. Dorianne is a great storyteller. I loved how she seamlessly takes you on her personal career journey. I felt like I was there with her.One story in particular about working on a new team and not gelling with coworkers was touching. I'm sure many women can relate to working with nice nasty ppl. I liked that she showed her career path wasn't perfect and she had some bumps in the road. Those bumps were able to help her change her career and help other women.Definitely recommend this book for women who are just starting out in the workforce or already in their career but want to go to the next level.

Must read for WOC in the workplace!
Deeper than work gives an accurate overview of the experience of WOC in the workplace but it also highlights how you can authentically show up without feeling like you have to change who you are. The best part of the book are the action items and reflection questions at the end of each chapter. Really helps you map out your game plan and get clear on the steps to take based on your goals! The reflection questions are great because it’s like having your own personal coach to navigate the workplace. Overall the book does not have a bunch of fluff and focuses on practical steps you can take to help your experience at work!

A unique and highly recommended read for women of color professIonals!
This author nailed it! As a woman of color professional, I’m always looking for materials that not only validate my experience but give me the tools to navigate the day-to-day nuances of being the only brown girl in the room. I love how the author, Dorianne, walks us through anecdotal — real-life situations that happen all too often and then provides us with step-by-step ways to address them. An excellent read/workbook that is both timely and relevant.

This book is for you, too!
Great read! For those like myself, who aren’t interested in the corporate climb, this book is still for you! It’s easily adaptable and provides clear instruction on how to start redefining your direction and how to purposefully show up in life with expectation. It leaves you feeling motivated to do better, be better; if not for a job, for yourself. This book takes the reference “use what you got to get what you want” to a new level 🙃. It’s so true that ‘all you have is all you need’, it’s about knowing the unique power that you hold and leveraging that into the fullness of God’s purpose and plan for your life.
