I bought the other ones because i thought they can handle weight but any shift in weight to one side cause the others to break and at least 2 broke on the side. So instead I bought this one ones for "heavyweight " and they are definitely made differently and more sturdier for people who are 200 - 280 lbs. I recommend this heavy version or "thicken plastic" compared to their other step stools made by the same company that broke twice.

Have had the stool a few months now and very pleased with it. The added height is great and it feels so much sturdier than other step stools I've had that fold in a similar manner but have the more traditional handle than pops up when folded (if you know what I mean). I highly doubted the 300lb weight limit of previous stool I had like, but totally believe it for this one. I'm no small woman and feel completely secure standing on it. I have no intention to but it feels like I could jump up and down on it and it still hold up. I would recommend. (Note: You do have to make sure the sides lock in place and may need to slightly get them started folding in when folding back up but I'm 100% ok with that as it means the chances of it collapsing when it shouldn't are virtually zero.)

I purchased the 13” stool to boost my 7-year-old up to reach the shelves in his closet. It’s serving its purpose! It is portable and light weight but durable and easy to collapse / open.
