I bought this to extend the cable for my dash cam. I have a 2006 F350 Quad cab long bed, The cable supplied by the camera supplier is long enough to go from my rear licence plate, through the inside of my bed and through the rear sliding window, draping loosely from there to the rear view mirror where I have the camera mounted. This cable has allowed me to reroute the cable and hide it inside the cab.

I'm about 5 feet short on my rear-view dash cam but this product did not work. If i connected without the cable the camera would work but when using the cable it would not.

Be careful it would be a great cable if it had male and female 2.5 connectors which is what i need. This cable has a 3.5 female connector and that is not what the description implies.
