The Queer Tarot: An Inclusive Deck and Guidebook

Amazing!
My deck arrived today, and I can’t find enough words to describe how special it is. The cards are a generous size and very sturdy. The cards’ box is gift box quality. The illustrated guidebook is really substantial (172 pages!) and explains not only the usual card meanings, but it also talks about the process of how the cards were made, and the models who posed for the cards including their names and pronouns. The cards showcase so much beautiful diversity. This would make a truly unique gift for anyone who is LGBTQ+, not just queer tarot readers.

Love Love Love This Deck
This deck is absolutely gorgeous. I love the maximalist style of it. There’s a lot going on in each card but it’s not overwhelming and doesn’t muddy the card or it’s meaning. I will say (although I have pretty small hands) these are a *little* too big, i have to really work it to bridge shuffle these. And I do wish they had a glossy finish, but matte seems to be what the girlies are doing these days. This has quickly become one of my favorite decks, I grab this one nearly every time I read. As a black gay woman I am very very pleased for me & my community to be represented so beautifully!

Beautiful art, inclusive, dynamic
Love this deck. Particularly love the justice card and explanation. The book is great too has perspectives you wouldn’t see in a “traditional” tarot deck and it aligns soooo much more with what I think of when I pull cards. Glad to support the community and the models and artists that contributed to this deck!

I love it
The cards are a bit big for shuffling but other than that I truly love this deck. The colors are awesome! I don’t think I can go back to my more bland deck I was using previously! The guidebook is good quality. I store my cards in cloth bags which it doesn’t come with one but I used my own so I didn’t mind that the box the cards came in was a bit flimsy. Overall a great deck.

Maximalist style, thick cards, weak packaging
So I'll start with what I didn't like because when choosing new decks, the things I didn't like about this deck aren't deal breakers for me, but they might be for someone. The main box the cards come in is a magnetic close box, which would've been great, but my box arrived damaged likely due to Amazon's packing and shipping process, so it was ripped on the wrong end so I had to duck tape it together. I didn't want to exchange because I would only worry the same thing would happen because the external box isn't the best quality, just standard cardboard with images on top. The cards inside come inside another box within the box, so that box is also very stiff, but very thin cardboard, so be careful opening that when they first arrive. I was careful, so I didn't rip that box, but someone in a hurry might end up ripping that box. There isn't a drawstring to pull up the cards from their felt casing inside the box, so that's a small bummer, but not a deal breaker for me.Now, onto the things I LOVED, which are numerous. The representation is amazing in this deck - the gender diversity, racial and ethnic diversity, disability representation, it's very strong in the diversity department, which I would expect given the deck's title. The imagery is a very maximalist style, with something to look at on every corner of each card - details for unpacking. Many of the cards stand out compared to other decks, but there were a couple that stood out as could've been from any deck (3 of Swords is one of them). That said, all of the detail in each and every card outweighs any concerns I would've had about the 2 cards I noticed that weren't as clearly distinct as for this deck.Additionally, the booklet is so thorough and thoughtful, so the deck can be beginner friendly, but it adds more for those of us who have been reading tarot for some time now.I have Pride Tarot in my collection, so if anyone reading this also does - I would say this deck definitely offers a different take on the same general premise. The coloration and art style of this deck is more consistent than Pride Tarot, and it's also a bit lighter and brighter (like neon bright, not sunshine bright) in terms of the art style, whereas Pride Tarot is more saturated and bold. They definitely feel like 2 very distinct decks, so if you're hesitant about Queer Tarot because you already have Pride Tarot, don't let that be the reason you don't get this deck. It really is a great deck, and I'll literally keep it forever.

Es más lésbico que Queer
The media could not be loaded.

Gostei.

The best and most inclusive Tarot deck ever?
This is indescribably lovely - really well thought through and represents all gender expressions, body shapes, racial and sexual identities, the chariot becomes a wheelchair - the list goes on. Colourful inclusive and fun. I have used this to read and workshop at LGBTQ+ festivals and people are so appreciative that there is a deck with representation for all. Also if you are used to Rider Waite then the images are recognisable enough that you don’t need to re learn anything
