Finding Your Way Back
First off how did I miss this book? This series? I’m all over it now.Get ready for an emotional read of loss and heartbreak. This story had it all, and I fell in love with our leads Parker and Freya. When her world is shattered in an instant Freya fears she’ll never recover. Her father switched off emotionally to deal with it and his answer was to pack up and move, leaving all the memories behind. But arriving in her new home Freya doesn’t expect Parker the boy next door.Parker is also lost going through the motions. The darkness and loss that he lives with daily is something he can’t escape from. Seeing the new girl though and it changes in that moment. These two need each other. The slow burn is moving and considering the early part is set in there teens in makes sense. But there’s a maturity about them that comes with losing a loved one. Just when you think everything is perfect it suddenly becomes not. These two will break you. But them finding there way back to each other will mend you.Jessica delivers on the feels, story and heat.

Beautifully realistic, emotional, romantic, heart-breaking, and sweetly satisfying
Scattered Colors by Jessica Prince is a contemporary, new adult, second chance romance told in dual POV. The first half of the story takes place while the lead characters are in high school. The second half fast forwards two years and takes place during college.Freya is dealing with grief, transition, and loneliness. After losing her mother to a tragic accident, her father has moved them to Washington to get a fresh start. As he grieves, he can barely look at her because she looks so much like her mother. Her only solace is her evening ritual of watching the sunset on the beach. That's where she meets Parker.Parker is the ringleader of the popular crowd but has grown increasingly tired of their pettiness and childish behavior. When he meets Freya, he's immediately drawn to her; and he recognizes the pain in her eyes that is similar to his own. They get off to a rocky start but eventually form a friendship that quickly turns into more. But when the manipulations of his ex-girlfriend put Parker in an impossible situation, he ends up breaking Freya's heart. He tries to explain but is too late as she has already made plans to leave and never return. Two years pass and Parker finally learns where Freya has gone. He decides to transfer to Florida State University so that he can be at the same college as her in order to try and win her back. Will Freya be able to forgive him? Has she moved on and met somebody else? Will she be willing to give Parker another chance? You'll have to read the story to find out.I really enjoyed this book. The characters were very likeable and relatable. I really felt for both Freya and Parker for the losses they experienced and the pain they went through. Their story was beautifully realistic, emotional, romantic, heart-breaking, and sweetly satisfying. I loved it.

Great Lessons Yet to Be Learned.
Freya Linden was a 17-year-old and few months away from starting her senior year in high school, she took dance classes in school to please her mom. She just got out of practice and was waiting for her mother to pick her up outside of school, when her friends asked her if she was sure she didn't want a ride home. she said no, her mother should be there shortly. They lived in Chicago, and hearing sirens, whether from police cars, fire trucks or ambulance was just part of living in a big city. After 20 minutes of waiting she became more than a little worried and tried to reach her mother by her cell, but it went to her voicemail. Then the bad news came, her mother had a head on collision with a drunk driver, she passed away six days later without ever regaining consciousness in the hospital. She was devastated, her father threw himself in his work, and home life s she knew it, was forever different. When Freya came home one day, her father informed her he sold the house, and they were moving to Washington, he didn't let her know ahead of time, and didn't ask her what she thought of the idea. They moved into a house he bought, which was overlooking a beach, and when they got there, she went to the beach,to sit a watch the sunset. That was where she met Parker Owen her neighbor, and a boy her age. Unbeknownst to either of them at that time, Parker and Freya had similar problems, that would help them to understand what life was like, and to find happiness wherever they could find it. I loved this book, I was actually sad when it ended, but it taught me a lot also. No matter how old or young you are, enjoy each day, make it count, and make memories, for yourself and for those around you that you love. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. Happy reading!

Young Adult Romance Full of Angst
This romance was well-written, but was a definite young adult romance. As such, there was a lot of drama and angst. The high school part of the story was just too typical, but the romance was just what a young lady would swoon over. However, I’m 55 and I really tire easily of young adult romance. I gave it a whirl only because I like this author, but I still abhor young adult romance. It is what it is.

Sweet story of love and love lost!
Scattered Colors is such a beautiful story. The heart warming tale of love and love lost will make you rethink everything. Not only does Prince cover love and love loss between intimate partners, but also between friends and family. The entire book you are reminded that life is too short and we as humans tend to take to much in our short lives for granite. I promise by the last page you will be on edge anxious to call your friends, hug your family, forgive old grudges and/or apologize for past wrongs. The characters are very complex with interesting back stories. The alternating POV give you an insight to how the main character feel and the struggles they face daily. There are several supporting characters that really make the story pop. I really hope that future books will cover them more as I just fell in love with so many of them, and love to hate a few others. If you love romance novels that have a plot that drags you in a holds you there.. this is the book for you. You will be consumed, in the best of ways. Can't wait to read more books by Jessica Prince in the future.

slow burn
I’ll be honest, teen/early twenty something couples are not my jam, but I’ve loved everything I’ve read from this author so decided to give this book a go, and I am so glad I did.The author captures the true emotions you go through when dealing with grief and becoming an adult. The characters and storyline were so realistic and so easy to get lost in. I loved every minute of this book, and even though it was a slow burn - something I don’t read a lot of, it was perfect. Loved it, just wish there was a second epilogue later in their lives to see how things progressed for Parker and Freya ❤️

A heartbreaking and beautiful story of young and forever love!
What a roller coaster...my emotions ran the gamut right along with these characters. Parker and Freya just may be my favourite Jessica Prince couple. Although they are young, because of life’s circumstances, they are old souls, and their souls were really meant for each other. I loved that this story was broken up into two parts...high school and then two years later, in college. I loved how this story became a second chance romance. I just loved this book!

So sweet
This book was just so sweet and exciting. The characters can sometimes give you a whiplash because of the change of their moods. It wasn’t annoying or anything just normal because of what they are going through.Give it a chance. I myself would read it again.
