Poirot returns!
It seems I have wandered back to Victorian times. First I read all the Enola Holmes books and now we have young Agatha Christie and young Hercule Poirot.I enjoyed this story, especially the young Hector, who uses the little grey cells to help solve the crime. I look forward to the next story.

Adorable characters and an enjoyable read!
I received this book from Tundra Books in exchange for a fair and honest review.Aggie Morton lives in 1902 Torquay, England. She is a very imaginative, creative and curious twelve year old. She is shy and without companionship (except for her nanny Charlotte). That is until she meets Hector Perot, a twelve year old Belgian immigrant who is being sponsored by the Reverend and his wife.Aggie takes dance at the Mermaid Dance Room. Her instructor is Miss Marianne Eversham. They have a benefit to collect clothes for the influx of refugees that have moved into Torquay. The next morning, Aggie is the first one through the door at the Mermaid Dance Room, wanting to get into class. She finds Mrs. Irma Eversham, Miss Marianne's sister-in-law, dead under the piano.Aggie and Hector set out to solve the murder of Mrs. Eversham. The police believe that Miss Marianne is the murderess but they believe differently. They are creative, curious, and determined to prove Miss Marianne's innocence. They find themselves in some crazy situations and Aggie, some dangerous ones.Although this book is geared towards younger (age 10+) audiences, it is a fun read for someone of any age. I truly enjoyed it. Ms. Jocelyn has researched and accurately described the era for which she writes. I love the characters and that there are illustrations at the beginning of the book which gives a picture in our minds of each one. A really good book plays out like a movie as I'm reading. This book achieved that and more. I read it quickly. I enjoyed it immensely. I highly recommend!

Delightful mystery story
Aggie Morton Mystery Queen, The Body Under The Piano introduces a very endearing character. Aggie Morton is a fictional embodiment of an inquisitive, twelve year old, Agatha Christie. The author makes no bones about her love of the Christie mystery novels, stating that they are the jumping off point for her creation of Aggie Morton. The quaint seaside town of Torquay, England in the year 1902, finds our heroine embroiled in a deadly mystery. Aggie upon entering her scheduled dancing class has found the widow, Mrs. Irma Eversham, dead under the piano. Aggie surmises that she most have been murdered. Irma Eversham has never had a nice thing to say about anyone, which leaves a long list of possible suspects in this closely knit town. Aggie, who at her tender age, has been taught to be very prim and proper, is fascinated at the fact she is in the middle of a grand mystery adventure. She teams up with Hector Perot, a boy her own age, who is a recent foreign refuge from Belgium. Hector also loves a good mystery, although his approach is a bit more cerebral and hands on than Aggie’s. The story has a very lively plot, while not being to gruesome for the younger set. This is a delightful story that will entertain the mind of many a young reader.

Young Agatha Christie
One of the best books I've read in a long time! Aggie Morton is the new Nancy Drew. She's smart and clever and so incredibly funny. I love her and Hector and Grannie Jane. The characters are so well thought out and relatable. The crime plot is also easy to follow but also well thought out. So children and adults alike will enjoy reading this book. I've already ordered books 2 and 3

Fun Middle Grade Mystery
A fun middle grade mystery! A fictionalized story of a young Agatha Christie. We follow Aggie with the help of her new friend Hector Perot as they try to solve this murder mystery. Most middle grade mysteries don’t have a murder so that was a change. We enjoyed the story and look forward to more from the author.

Queen of the mystery genre when she was a girl.
This was a very well done mystery following Aggie and Hector as they solve an intricate who done it murder investigation. I thought the younger interpretation of Hercule Poirot was so adorable especially with him twisting his imaginary mustache when he was contemplating the mystery. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Perfect for young readers who like mystery novels
Aggie Morton lives in a small town on the coast of England. She is shy but, has an adventurous and imaginative streak. After her beloved father passed away, Aggie hasn't been able to do much. Until she crosses path with a young twelve-year-old Belgian immigrant named Hector Perot. When a dead body was discovered in her dance studio, Aggie and Hector join forces to help solve the crime. The pool of suspects is growing larger and the murder is threatening to tear the town apart. The duo will need to use their deductive skills and their curiosity to help solve the crime before Aggie's beloved dance instructor is charged with a crime Aggie believes she didn't commit. The book was a cute read for children who love mystery and suspenseful novels. The plot twists and secrets were all very predictable and I was able to guess all of them before they happened. However, I am a grown adult and children would probably enjoy putting clues together to solve the mystery on their own. This novel is perfect for young readers who enjoy mystery novels.

such a good book
I was lucky to get a copy of Aggie Morton Mystery Queen The Body Under the Piano by Marthe Jocelyn which is a middle grade inspired by the real-life of Agatha Christie which I absolutely loved via Netgalley. I am not going to give away any spoilers as that is a no-no in mystery books but I will say this I was part way reading from my Kindle and I knew that i had to have the Physical Book to make my reading this book more enjoyable. I then found out that this was going to be a series and so I have pre-ordered the second installment called Aggie Morton Mystery Queen Peril at Owl Park which comes out in September 2020. I think I have found another series which I am so excited about and so I will be reading every book which comes out. So for this reason it has be 5 stars.
