Birki'sBirki's Classic-Birki Clog

Perfect fit, seemed a little slippery and hard at first, but got more comfortable with wear.
Bought these to wear in the yard to prevent my sneakers from getting wet and dirty. After initially disliking them, I really like them now.I wear a women's size US 10, and I always take a 41 in Birks, these fit true to size. I have lots of styles of Birks, but I get frustrated when I am looking at one online and it is not obvious whether the style is unisex or not, and not obvious whether it is narrow or not. These turned out to be perfect. Not too narrow, not too wide. I have an average width. At first I thought they would be way too slippery to wear with socks (hey, I'm in my yard, gimme a break!) but they are fine, I just have to be little cognizant of how I walk when I wear them with socks. I also thought they were a little hard and uncomfortable at first, but they are fine now. I think it just took some getting used to. Love them!!!

Birki's Classic
I love Birkenstocks and wear them pretty much year around. I've got several different styles and materials and have never been unhappy with any that I have gotten. The only reason I didn't give this one a full 5 star rating is because it doesn't have the removable footbed, which I really like.I've had other ones similar to this and I have the Birki with the skulls on it that has the footbed and it's really great. One thing I found out, I left a pair of these in the car one year in the summer and it got really hot and, something totally surprising happened, they shrunk! They got too tight and I could never wear them again. That was my fault and I wouldn't have expected it but they are some sort of plastic and the heat did something to them, so don't leave them in the car, along with your children and pets, when it's horribly hot. Otherwise, no complaints, the size is always right, I've found I can wear either a narrow or medium, and they're great for work.

Long Time User But Not This One
Let me qualify my review by explaining that I have worn the Birkenstock shoes since the 70s. The "clog" has been a favorite and I needed some smaller sizes, now, having lost weight - Yippee! So, I decided to start off with a simple black clog and maybe new insoles for my older clogs - all over 14 years old (I do have the Birk sandals too - with one wide strap over the toes that I adore). Thus arrived in great time my new smaller black Birki Clog. Lo and behold no removable insole! That means no great footbed that accomodates indiviual feet. Still dedicated to this brand, I decided to give them a good ole heave ho and break them in; not!No amount of wearing these comes anything close to even my first paid or Birkenstock clogs (made of the same material) with the removable insoles. In my opinion, I would not buy this model ever again - it's simply not worth my foot and back health to risk it, ever again. I'm enjoying a smaller size, but that's about the limit. When I can get back to the Austin Birkenstock stores and stock up again, I will do that - and double-check on what I am buying because with the removable insoles new ones may be ordered and the Birkenstock clogs last forever, in my experience.

Birki Classic-Birki Clog, Garden Clogs
I've lost count of just how many pairs of this particular garden shoe I've owned and worn within my life, but the number most likely is greater than that of many other folks. Fact is, I don't have any shoes, other than Birkenstock sandals and clogs (and three pairs of 'flat' boots when necessary for colder winter weather). I work in my yard, field and garden and in my mom's yard, so the Birki Classic-Birki Clog continually gets a workout from early in the morning to dark-thirty. This clog stands up to the heat, cold, water, mud, sand, and harsh foliage whether I'm digging holes, cutting down saplings, tending the garden, or simply mowing. When I notice that the pattern on the clogs' soles are wearing down, it is time to order a new pair. Love this garden clog....If they were not comfortable, I would not have worn them for all these years (I'm closer to 80 than I am to 70).

Excellent practical clogs
I am just retiring my previous pair that I've had since my 36 year old son was an infant. The only reason the old ones have to go is that a puppy took a liking to them. The new ones fit exactly the same, but the reason I withheld the fifth star is that the material seems less durable. It is a bit thinner, and has a slightly sticky consistency. Time will tell if I'm right (although if these last as long as their predecessors, I will be close to 100 by the time I need a new pair, and my gardening days may be over!)

Can't imagine life without these shoes.
I had a pair of these for so long - maybe 25 years. I kept them by my back door and wore them in the garden and anything else I did outside. I don't wear shoes in the house and these are so easy to slip on when I go out. I also wore them to go out when it was raining. And then the top of one of them cracked. I couldn't imagine not having these shoes - they are so useful, so comfortable. When I found them here I was thrilled, ordered them, and was thrilled again when they were just like my old ones.

Pissed
Disappointed. Worn this style for years, and I years past have had them last a minimum of 10 years. This pair cracked in 3 months. Unfortunately because I purchased through Amazon and not Birkenstock and am unable to return or replace. I’m pissed.

These are the real deal!
After trying two other types of these kind of shoes by different makers that didn't work for me, went back to my Birki's. I love them, they fit, they do not slip off, one does not walk out of them, they are pretty much indestructible and last forever. The size runs true, I take a 38 and it fits great. They aren't too high and thus are stable to walk in w/o fear of rolling ankle over. Best shoe of this type out there IMO. I keep a pair on the porch for the yard and this new pair for 'town' use. Wore them by pool in club and they provide excellent traction on the various flooring in the gym.
