Does the job
I have a fairly newly set up 255ltr reef tank and although cycled noted that the alkalinity was slowly dropping due to the natural processes within the tank. After quite a bit of research I chose the Reef Builder to manage the issue. It is well packaged with 3 sets of instructions depending on how expert you are (I chose the simplest! It was very easy to use, I used an electronic kitchen scale to measure the quantity needed (4g in my tank, 255 litres and then taking account of rock) I dosed as suggested, through a drip into the tank sump at about 2 drips per second with the product diluted in fresh RO water. The solution was cloudy but as a the solution was tiny in volume it made no difference at all to the clarity of the display tank. I always test the KH 24 hours after dosing and notice that the dose above raises the KH by one point (not sure what the scale is but you would be looking at between 7/8 and 12 (max). So if I had a ‘7’ this dose would raise it to an ‘8’, give or take. The container would last for many months as I only only use it every week or so. So in terms of managing alkalinity this product does the one job it has! But check your calcium and magnesium!I would certainly use this on an on-going basis and it is pretty cost effective from the amount I use.

A must for Alk
Reef Builder is the product I use to dose Alkalinity in my tanks. Buying it in such a large container is just for the sake of saving a few dollars. It's a good product, dissolves well and the results I get with it are consistent. The only problem I've found is that when it starts to dry our a bit, it can clump and leave a few little white crumbles that will end up in the tank. I've never had any problems with them or seen any damage associated with the little white bits or it would be a 4 start review. Thankfully when I order it in the larger buckets, it always seems to be fresh and I tend to use quite a bit over the course of a year.

Buy from a reputable reef dealer
Bought as I need it quickly, but on opening the foil seal wasn’t secure and there was some sort of contamination left in the powderAnd on the side of the container as you can see in the picture Will be sending back and won’t be buying thisAgain .When items are sealed they usually have a plastic backing on the foil which makes it hard to remove this was flimsy I don’t think seachem would use this method to secure their product think twice before buying
