Not working for me
I bought this as a backup to another pair of devices, and it doesn't work any better - I bet they are using the same chipsets, based on the features and observed behavior. I have an Ethernet cable running from my family room to a home run, and another from my home run to my home office, and am using a simple connector between them. This setup used to work well for the other pair of devices, but now works for neither. I get poor results in the same room over a manufactured 10 foot cable - the video has sparklies. I am going to find another way to get video sent around.

Not quite up to snuff.
I needed to send HDMI over a 150 foot Cat5e cable. That's what the ad claims for this. No joy. I could make it send over a 30 foot cable. Didn't have any intermediate lengths to test on. At 150 feet I got link lights and TV detected there was some kind of signal (it didn't go into sleep mode). but no pictures. Amazon sent me a second set. No difference. Then I tried a slightly more expensive version. No change. When I changed to the Monoprice brand that claimed 450 feet, it worked at 150 feet. No idea whether it would actually do 450 feet.Amazon refunded for all the non-functioning devices.

Works!
Had bought the same item from a brand called "Oreio" (two of them) and neither worked. Then I bought the Zettaguard version (both look identical), but these actually worked and were also less expensive.I hope they last... Must use surge protection for sure.

Big Savings Overall
I was at first apprehensive in purchasing this item, but I'm glad I did. I bought this item primarily to avoid having to rent another cable box from Cox, which cost $8.50 a month. So after five months this item will have paid for itself, the rest is pure savings. I did purchase another remote control so I wouldn't have to carry the one I have from one location to another, but that's just optional. Hope it lasts for awhile.

Works great over long cable run
I'm using the device with a 50ft CAT-5 cable. Installation was easy. It is important to read the manual and to set the DIP switches right for the length of the cable. There are eight different levels (three binary DIP switches). After adjusting the signal strength with the switches, the device worked perfectly.

Exactly what I needed
I bought a new LG UHD tv and wanted to run hdmi cable to two tv's in different rooms with a Dish cable box receiver with only one hdmi output on the cable box. This did the job by connecting a 10 foot hdmi cable to the Dish box into this new hdmi extender's box transmitter. I then connected the existing downstairs tv where the Dish receiver is to the hdmi output of the transmitter extender box and then plugged in a 50 foot CAT 5e cable from the transmitter to the receiver after running it through a wall in the downstairs to the new LG tv upstairs in a family room. I then connected a 5 foot hdmi cable to the receiver extender box from the back of the tv. I plugged both units in, they powered on. Yeah, I put my HDMI switch on my tv to the correct HDMI port which in my case was HDMI 2. The picture is remarkably and the surround sound is great. It works and solved a big problem of connecting more than one HD tv from a Dish cable box with hdmi. The CAT 5e cable lets you run a long distance, and much cheaper. Just make sure the CAT 5e wire is solid copper wire inside. Sure beats renting a DISH hopper and Joey.

Make sure the EQ setting is right
Make sure you read and follow directions for the EQ(length of Ethernet) feature of this unit. Initially my HDMI to my projector did not work due to the length away from the AV receiver. Adjusting the EQ fixed the issue. Highly recommended!

HDMI worked for a week and killed my DVR
The product worked great for the first week of use and provide great picture quality and remote access via the IR extender great. The product had a loop in HDMI port on the transmitter. After one week of being used, the picture stopped working. Took off the looping of one end to find out it killed the HDMI picture and sound from the DVR it was hooked up to. The Receiver side of the device seems not to get the full signal as the IR extender still works. Be careful, and I was running the DVR at the max output of 1080i for the week and plugged in both extenders.
