beautiful colors, does need better choices.
Paul Rubens Oil Paint is a set of 20 bright oil colors that come in 50ml large capacity tubes. In this unbiased review, we'll assess various aspects of this oil paint set to provide you with a comprehensive overview.**Color Quality (4.5/5):** One of the most critical aspects of any paint set is the quality of the colors, and Paul Rubens delivers well in this department. The 20 colors included in this set are vibrant, rich, and have high saturation. They offer a wide range of colors suitable for various artistic projects, making them suitable for both beginners and experienced artists.**Pigment and Texture (4/5):** The pigments used in Paul Rubens Oil Paint are of good quality. They have a rich, creamy texture that allows for smooth and easy application on a canvas. The colors are highly pigmented, which means a little goes a long way, making them cost-effective in the long run.**Mixing and Blending (4.5/5):** These oil paints are excellent for mixing and blending, allowing artists to create a wide range of hues and shades. The consistency of the paints makes it relatively easy to achieve the desired color gradients and transitions.**Drying Time (3/5):** As with most oil paints, the drying time is relatively long. This can be a positive or a negative depending on your preference and style. Some artists prefer the extended drying time, as it provides more time for blending and adjustments, while others may find it a hindrance when working on faster projects.**Packaging and Presentation (4/5):** The 50ml large capacity tubes are a notable feature of this set. They provide a generous amount of paint, which is excellent for artists working on larger canvases or those who use a particular color frequently. The packaging is practical and well-sealed to prevent any leakage or drying out of the paints.**Price and Value (4/5):** Paul Rubens Oil Paint offers good value for the price, especially considering the quantity and quality of the paint you receive. It is reasonably priced for a set of 20 high-quality oil colors in large tubes. It is an excellent option for artists who want to explore oil painting without breaking the bank.**Overall Impression:**Paul Rubens Oil Paint, with its vibrant and high-saturation colors in large capacity tubes, is a fantastic choice for artists of all levels. The paint quality, texture, and mixing capabilities make it suitable for various artistic applications. The long drying time may not be ideal for those who require quick turnaround, but it provides an extended window for artistic adjustments. Considering the price and value, this set is a cost-effective solution for oil painters who want a versatile range of colors in their arsenal.

Creamy Paint
I got this set because I needed to replace my reds and this was the cheapest version with lots of paint left over. I was so impressed by the creamy and rich consistency. I normally do mix my paint but this one you don't really need too. The colors are super vibrant and no need for extra mixing which is rare for oil paints. I really did like them so I will keep on buy thing this brand. I do love their watercolors but so far the creamiest student oil grade paint.

Package was impressively heavy.
Felt I couldn't go wrong. Initially bought it for the number of color selections, the cheap price and the name of the long dead German artist from whom it's name was borrowed. Going for two studies. One of Elina Garanca, the mezzo soprano who stole every man's soul playing the wild-eyed, fearless washer woman, Carmen, at the Metropolitan Opera, and a Latvian girl driving her family's cows home in the rain. Both are unforgettable, and both are of the same nationality. It's important for an artist to have a plan and a purpose starting out.

Surprisingly Good
I bought these based on Amazon reviews. I find that I am limiting myself because paints are so expensive that I just put a tiny dab on pallet, then can't do any interesting strokes or alla prima. So I figured I would try these - large tubes, good price. Reviews indicated they had decent opacity.I tried them yesterday and was very pleased! Very creamy, nice oil content, good opacity. Hope to do some nice thick alla prima this week and really use some paint! It was a nice feeling to squeeze out a big glob and not worry that I just used half a tube!Color range was incomplete, I still had to supplement with other paints for burnt umber, sap green, and a few others, but the range provided was decent and there were a few interesting colors too. I bought the second largest range.Negatives = you can't buy individual tubes here so when I run out of white I am going to have to use other brands.Like I said, color range was incomplete but usable.Overall I would rate it a BUY, especially for tube size and cost.

These paints were fantastic. I did a giant 6 x 5 painting no problems
The media could not be loaded. I had no complaint with these paints. They mixed well with Linseed oil and thinner when I wanted to thin it. I did a giant 6’ x 5’ painting and barely put a dent in the paint except for the black and the white I had to order larger tubes of this is a lot of paint and a phenomenal price. Check out the video for the texture

Not So Hot
I've appreciated Rubens products for a long time now - their oil pastels are a fabulous bargain at a great price. These paints, however, have a few issues. Sorry but no, they are absolutely not highly pigmented; even the bargain English paints require less product to color a canvas. The reds are okay, however. There are several colors, furthermore, that have an inordinate amount of white added to the pigment allocation, when they really should not. I do not, for example, want a sherbet color to come out of the tube marked 'orange', which is then so sheer on the canvas that it is only suitable for glazing. Sorry again but, if painted thickly they dry with a plastic texture under the light that other alkyds do not have. The last sad fact is the manufacturer's choice of caps which do not fit the tube threads (about 10% of the tubes) and so cannot be closed properly even when handed over in exasperation to patient and expert help. A handful of paints were dried rock hard in the tube before ever being used because of this. To be fair, the price and quantity, for alkyd paints, is still good even so, and they handle nicely after gouging out the dried paint blobs. So I reach for them when I want to bang out a quick drying underpainting. and then paint the next layer with other paints to hide the plastic look.
