Perfect compact office tool
I really like the stapler, it is strong metal and durable and it works great. After 500 staples not one staple jam, it is just a bit smaller than it is pictured. Unlike another review, this stapler works just like any other stapler.

Nice little desk stapler
This is a nice litte stapler. Solid. Small, which is what I wanted. It also stands on end just fine to really lessen the desk space needed. I wouldn't call myself a "high use" example, but it's been just what I needed for a normal office environment.BTW - issues with jamming are just as often due to cheap staples as a cheap stapler.

Don't use the staples that come with the item
The stapler is small. Attempting to use the staples that were packaged with the stapler, I could seldom staple successfully. Staple would often jam, or else wouldn't completely close. If those were the only staples available, I would be pressed to give this even one star. I happened to have a box of EXP40022 standard staples, so I tried those. So far the stapler has worked just fine. If stapler were of a standard office size I would give it more stars, but it is a bit awkward with its small size. For occasional use with a few sheets AND a good quality staple, I'm happy with the item.

Not recommended
Ordered for use at the library I work at, because it looked like it would be more reliable than the plastic ones. It jams all the time and breaks easily. Do not recommend, especially for high-frequency use.

Great, inexpensive stapler
I bought this stapler to do stapling at home and school for assignments and articles, and it's handled everything better than a cheap staplers you might find at a big-box store. It's rated for up to 20 sheets of 20# paper, but I've handled even more than that with ease. It's a bit shorter than a full-size stapler, but it's not "mini," and it feels sturdier than any cheap stapler I've owned. I recommend this for light to moderate home or school stapling. I'm not a "heavy-duty" stapler so I don't know how it would hold up in a busy office, although at least one reviewer seems to think it wouldn't be good (although really, it feels sturdy enough I'd have a hard time believing it--but, of course, I haven't tried). In summary, this is a great, inexpensive stapler. I realize they aren't exactly the most complicated piece of home or office equipment, but after having been through my fair share of cheap, easily broken staplers, I think this one is going to last a long time.EDIT: I have had a couple jams, but that seems to really have more to do with the staples. I was trying to do 18 pages of 20# paper, and the stapler choked on my first two attempts. After examining the staples inside, I made sure that the line wasn't "broken" (you know how staples are all kinda stuck together when you put them in? that's what I mean), took out the little parts that weren't, and tried again--and it worked. "Broken" lines of staples are fine for smaller jobs, which are the bulk of my jobs. Unfortunately, 18 pages is a bit under the 20 stated in the specifications--but I've had bigger jobs without problem, as well.

It's a stapler.
First of all, this is a stapler. It is not mechanically complex, so I don't see how much can go wrong with these things. In any case, the packaged staples seem to be fine, but look like they should be used with more than just 2-3 sheets of paper in terms of when they won't wiggle easily (keep in mind they'll still hold fine). The only complaint I have is how it's held in to keep it from opening up (like for stapling things to boards). I prefer the type of mechanism where there is a lever on the underside of the stapler (such as in swingline's full size models) because the way it is done on this model is fairly stiff. One problem that I've been noticing more recently is that it does not feed the staples properly. In order to make another staple feed I have to open and close the stapler.
