BEAUTIFUL but not all the lights work as they should.
I am so very happy with my purchase. The figurines are beautiful by themselves but when they light up at night and change colors they are magnificent! I have them positioned in the center of my very large planters out on my patio. It's peaceful to just sit and watch the color show. I ordered two sets. Delivery was quick, set up was a breeze, and they are affordable. If you're on the fence about this purchase jump in with both feet.....you will not be disappointed!Review update: I have had these lights for a little over a week now. I purchased 2 sets and 2 of the solar lights out of 6 are not as bright as the others and sometimes do not come on at all. Love the lights that work as they as suppose to and disappointed with the 2 that do not.

Overall, a Good Value!
Overall, this set is a good value. At the time of this review, my lights have been working well for about three weeks. At first, I was frustrated and had problems getting one of the lights to continue working. But, after removing and re-installing the original batteries a few times, it works fine now (maybe the battery connection wasn’t tight). The lights do need a SUNNY location to work well. My lights are in three separate areas that get full sun. They come on at dusk and light up for several hours – working well past my bedtime, which is past midnight. I plan to buy another set soon! Amazon did a great job with the packaging - the lights & parts were fastened and/or tied down securely in the manufacturer’s box and then shipped in an Amazon box with air pillows.

Pretty and bright.
These work great as long as you don't have a 2 yr old grand daughter who thinks they're "PRETTY", and breaks the insects off. Not super rugged in my opinion even without a 2 yr old grabbing them, if they fell over i think the plastic is too flimsy to support the design. They are very pretty and bright tho. Once you turn the "on" switch under the solar panel. I thought they took days to charge (not reading instructions-oops) and thought I had a bunch of duds. lol! Finally got my brain in gear and found the on switch.

They work well, attractive, and a powerful enough battery.
I love the set of lights but did have a problem with my first order. The butterfly solar light did not work at all. I contacted the vendor who had me contact Amazon. Much to Amazon's credit they sent out a replacement order the following day. No problems and no hard time. These lights use a 600 NiMH battery, actually not bad, and they glow through much of the night, assuming a good daytime charge. The plastic tops are thin, so use caution when opening the package and putting them together. At a good price here.

More trouble than they are worth
6/30/15: Edited to add: after about 3 weeks of use, one of these no longer works at all. Changing batteries made no difference. In addition, I've had to switch out batteries on several of them, so I'm starting to wonder whether they charge at all. The lights come on at night and go off during the day, but don't seem to charge during the day....so basically they last until the rechargeable battery inside runs out, and then work again when a freshly charged battery is inserted. I'm routinely having to take these apart to put in new batteries because the rechargeable batteries--even high quality ones that I've substituted for what they came with--aren't charging.I'm downgrading my review again, down to a one because this is ridiculous.I posted a review on these a couple of weeks ago, but am completely revising the review (and downgrading the rating) because of how unreliable these lights are. I own about 35 of them, and of that number, I've had problems with at least a third. It's not uncommon for them to not work straight out of the box. I found that many of the batteries were close to being dead and had to be recharged, or in some cases replaced, for the lights to work. The colors on these lights are beautiful, which is why I'm giving them two stars and not one. The colors change gradually and are soothing to look at. Those are the pros. The cons are how unreliable mine have been. I have a few that have worked without problems, but I've had more that had to be tweaked to work. By tweaked I mean things like replacing the batteries, or trying to seal the compartment from water getting in. Some of the lights have just stopped working and when I opened them up, there was rain water inside, and corrosion. In a few cases I could just dry it out, put in a new battery and it would still work--but in other cases, the corrosion had ruined the connections and the whole thing had to be trashed.I thought I had found a solution to my problem. I put black electrical tape around the side of the solar section, thinking that would keep the rain water out. Well it didn't; just now I opened up one of the units I've had for a week, and there was water inside. Maybe water is getting in via the edges of the solar panel on the top.I think these lights would be great if you had an area that was protected from rain but got plenty of sun for recharging. Short of that, my experience has been that they're too unreliable. They might work for weeks or they might work for days. I've probably purchased about 40 of these over the last 3 years, and of that number, I've had to throw out at least 1/4 due to corrosion inside the solar panel section. With about half of the remaining ones, I've had to put in new batteries or periodically charge the batteries they came with; either the batteries are of poor quality and/or the solar panel doesn't do a good job of actually recharging.I wanted to love these lights; that's why I kept buying them, because they're beautiful when they work....but they have ended up being more trouble than they were worth.

Fun way to light up your life!!!
These little lights are just beautiful in my backyard!!! I put them in my potted plants around the backyard and they are just fun to see as they light up each evening. I put regular batteries in mine and change them as soon as the lights go out, about every couple of months or more. They take one double A battery each. I bought some rechargeable batteries like the ones that came with the sets but the batteries don't seem to hold a charge as long as the regular ones do. Maybe it's our humid Houston weather or something. Anyway, happy with my purchase. Fun outdoor accessory!
