I set this up for the first time today, and the hammock is large and comfortable. Just as my partner joined me - it was a surprise for her in the first place - the straps both broke! Together we may weigh 300 lbs, but each strap is supposed to be rated to 300lbs. The moment I sat in it, the straps seemed to stretch - now i know they may have broken by one loop then, but when i adjusted it didn't seem that way. Either way, i had to climb a chair to get in, and was shortly flat-footed on the ground when i sat in the hammock. I did inspect the whole product before setup, and did not see any signs of damage before use.I know they're cheap straps that come included, but a hammock of the same quality without the straps is much cheaper - and i did choose to spend extra because it came with tree straps.

Gave this as a Christmas gift. My friends really enjoyed it however the stitching came apart on one of the loops (on the strap) within the first week. Still able to use it but I'm disappointed they had that problem

This is a fantastic hammock, on par with some of my favorites I have purchased through Amazon. Stretchy and soft parachute nylon, carabiners without the sharp edges that many of my other ones came with. Constructed superiorly, no defects I could tell. Also, unlike other hammocks that come the rope tied in a loop with an overhand knot, the loops here are larks-headed through the channel, then securely tied onto the carabiner. And I really like the red/gray combination, very nice looking hammock. Awesome, high quality worksmanship.What is not awesome is the straps. I have several similar appearing pairs of straps, but these are unique in that they stretch and bounce - obviously made of a different material than the 4 or 5 other sets I have seen and used. As someone mentioned in another review, this means that you have to set it up very high before sitting into it. I set this one up in the same place I have set up hammocks of the same size and material before I realized the magnitude of the issue, and then my butt was on the ground after my first attempt to sit. I had to move it up until the initial position was about 3.5-4 feet off the ground so that my rear was about a foot or so up in the end (not so useful for the kids). I bought this as a gift for my nieces, so I am glad that I tested it out ahead of time. Luckily I had another set that I bought as back up, those will be going in with this hammock, and these bouncy ones will perform the back up role. Greenlight outdoor should think about replacing these, because then they would have an unreserved hit on their hands.
